I have completed my Business Administration SVQ level 3 with RTL at Heriot-Watt University with lots of support and help from Julie. Julie was extremely helpful in helping me achieve my SVQ, with meetings every couple of weeks and only being an email/phone call away I felt much supported. Julie was great in helping me understand the work I needed to produce for my SVQ and always ensured that if I were to ever misunderstand anything to always ask her for help. She also made it... very clear how I should complete tasks and how much evidence/work I should be producing. I have benefited hugely as I have gained a wide range of skills that contribute to my job I have at Heriot Watt, I’m a lot more confident than I used to be and I feel more responsible in my role. The colleagues I corresponded with at RTL were welcoming and friendly which is such a relief as when I was in school still unsure with what I wanted to do when I left, the warm welcome took off a lot of stress. I benefited hugely from doing my SVQ as before I didn’t know what I was going to do with myself as I had no job and I was a very anxious person so going out my comfort zone was something I tried to avoid at all costs but since doing my SVQ I’ve not only got myself a job, which I really enjoy doing, but I’ve become a much more confident person as a whole and I now always try to step out of my comfort zone to achieve new things I never thought were possible before. Doing my SVQ gave me structure and helped me grow as a person. My assessor Julie guided me through every step and described everything I was tasked with doing to complete my SVQ very clearly and made the whole thing stress free. I started studying for my SVQ level 3 in February. It was really refreshing studying again and I really enjoyed doing the course. If I ever had any problems or difficulties with a report I was doing, I could just call or sent Julie an email and she was very helpful. Julie would come into my workplace and meet with me every couple of weeks and explain in detail the work I have done and also go over the upcoming work I had to do. I completed my SVQ in July, I feel completing this course has benefited me and the work I am doing in my current job role. Laura McCollough.
