There is nothing quite as Scottish as Scotch Whisky itself.
At our R Bar, we have a great selection for you to choose from. Including this Glenmorangie with the below tasting notes:
Nose: Soft, clean and refreshing: lemon sherbert and apricots, with honeyed fruit and a touch of toffee and vanilla. Gentle and satisfying.
... Palate: A little weightier on the palate, with honey and malt, banana bread and subtle sweet spices. Clean and well balanced.
Finish: The honeyed fruit fades softly, and the finish is whistle-clean.
Comment: A textbook whisky, this – well made, beautifully balanced, delicate but still flavoursome.
Come along and enjoy one with us.

Yet another amazing visit to the Rusacks hotel. Both food and service exceeded all expectations. Every time we visit they seem to raise the bar higher. Management and team are clearly getting it right. Hopefully be back soon. Thanks

User

When we began talking about going to St. Andrews I told the group I didn't care which hotel because we wouldn't be in the room much anyway. Glad Pioneer Golf booked The Rusacks. The location made the stay extraordinary and staff went above and beyond for all of us. We tried to being Jeff in the R home with all of us! He was great!

User

We Love staying at this hotel. The location, the staff, the food and most importantly the beds. Everything is superb. The beds are the best sleep I have ever had. The food is of the highest standard and all wonderfully presented. The rooms are immaculate, I would very much recommend this hotel for a scenic break away , and in my opinion some of the finest coastline I have experienced . 5 stars very much recommend!

User

The hotel is perfectly placed in the town. You can walk around in less than 30-min without worry. Rooms were comfortable and had character. The challenge throughout our stay was room charges versus cash payment. There seemed to be a disconnect between restaurant, bar, front desk that became a bother. The lack of a credit card machine in the bar made things extra difficult for the staff. Basically, if you didn’t charge things to your room it was an issue. I felt bad for staff.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone and this was my second stay.

PS....consider upgrading your “lift” to accomodate more weight and people

User

Surprised Mrs. O with a wee treat and we decided to spend New Year here. What an inspired move!! One of the best breaks we have ever had. Thoroughly pleasant, amiable, attentive and professional staff. Immaculately presented room and hotel in general. Fantastic Hogmanay party night complete with DJ and complimentary champagne! Not much more we could have asked for. Thank you to all the staff for making this a memorable, hugely enjoyable and generally fabulous few days. We shall be back............and that's a promise

User

User

Me and my husband have visited St Andrews many times but never stayed, we always wanted to stay at the Rusacks because of the wonderful views and we were not disappointed the view was spectacular the hotel clean and welcoming, the staff were very friendly and helpful , we will certainly be back for another visit thank you.

User

Lovely hotel with the most amazing location, views are fantastic. Stayed here several times and the staff are always great, very helpful and friendly. Food is great really enjoy the breakfast in Roca Restaurant overlooking the 18th fairway. Definitely recommend this hotel even if your not a golfer it’s a lovely place to stay.

User

Just arrived today after our wedding in Scotland, they upgraded our room and gave us some beautiful flowers. Thank you so much. Already exceed my expectations

User

I had booked the Rusacks for our mini honeymoon having got married on Saturday 10th February. We arrived on Sunday to check in having booked a Classic King room. To our delight, knowing it was our honeymoon, the Rusacks had upgraded us to a suite! We were in the Tom Morris Snr Suite (114) and when we walked in it was one of those WOW moments. It absolutely oozed class with its amazing living room with an absolutely stunning view overlooking the 18th, or Road Hole of the Old Course. Our bedroom and our bathroom or 'Loo with a view' were also incredible. We had evening meal in Rocca Restaurant our first evening and the food was simply first class. Breakfast both mornings was also great and what can I say about the staff..... From the moment we checked in every member of staff was so attentive and couldn't be more helpful. When I spoke to Kristian Campbell the General Manager I couldn't speak highly enough and thank you also to him for the celebratory champagne for me and my new wife Christina. We will be checking out shortly and still have our afternoon cream tea to enjoy. Can't speak highly enough of the Rusacks and thank you for making our time here perfect! We will certainly be back!

User

Had a great night away here 5th May. A fantastic room, great location with great views and very attentive staff. What’s not to like, highly recommended

User

As me and my new wife are currently here on honeymoon I wanted everything to be perfect and the staff have really helped to make it Geoff and Iain at the bar made our night last night and the 2 girls at breakfast we're great ur staff deserve a big pat on the back they can cater for everything and it seems nothing is a problem to them the gentleman who I'm assuming is the restaurant manager and the people on reception we're also impeccable Thank you very much for making our honeymoon memorable will definitely be back and as my mother has owned with McDonald's for over 30 years we will definitely be back cheers folks

Our group consisted of three couples. We were early for check-in, so went to get cream tea, provided in deal, in bar area, but had to sit in hall as bar area so busy! Full marks for service and for cream tea tho!

At 3 o'clock, check-in time, we were told only 1 room early. This room looked as tho it had recently been renovated, and the decor was of a high standard. Room was warm. But view was of another side of building. Not nice, but fortunately, closed curtains solved that problem!

Our other 2 rooms were ready for us 30 and 60 minutes later. At checkout there appeared to be only 1 cleaner on floor!

These rooms were in need of an overhaul. Clean, but after seeing decor in first room, disappointing!

All windows looked out to street, and with no netting or blinds, residents across the street, had full view of us in shower, on toilet, getting dressed, going into bed!!! So, we were thankful for closed curtains again!

Dinner lovely in bar downstairs. But we were frozen. We alerted staff, but we're told there was problem with heating. No alternate seating offered.

Slept well in comfortable beds.

Breakfast room so busy, we sat down at 9 to eat, and finished at 10.20. Toast was like ryvita, it was so thin n cold, and butter for 2 people was a triangle smaller than a Kraft cheese!! Breakfast tho, tasted lovely.

Staff very busy overall on this overnight, but always pleasant.

We paid reduced rate for stay, but overall, stay would not have been worth full rate.

User

My husband and I had a one night stay yesterday!! It was lovely - the room was huge, bathroom very spacious and clean! We decided to have breakfast in our room - this was excellent - arrived on time and tasted delicious!! Will definitely be back!!

User

Staff & setting are spectacular. Service is very slow, room service don’t answer their phone, customer next to me had hot plate and cold soup and waited so long they left.

I had said at time of booking wanted access for my scooter and received call a few days before saying all organised. Arrived and helped me in but had no record of the disabled access and scooter doesn’t fit in the lift. Though they made sure room was next to lift so no real harm.

The hotel offers superb views of the old course and the sea.

User

I stayed at the MacDonald on business and overall felt the hotel was ok but nothing to write home about...

I arrived and the staff on reception were pleasant and the hotel itself was easy to find. The car park is very small though but luckily I managed to get a space.

The main issue I had was when I got to my room, it was so cold that it actually hit me as soon as I opened the door! The hallway was actually warmer. I was in room 25 and interestingly I saw other reviews that said the same. I looked around the room for heating but there was just a poor heater in the corner which didn’t give off much heat. It was so cold that I couldn’t sleep and had to call reception for a spare blanket (which took 20 minutes to arrive). I also felt like the cleaners didn’t really do much on my second day. Usually when you stay in a hotel, everything is neatly put back in its place but they’d left things on the sides and floor and hadn’t even bothered to clean the loo. I would’ve mentioned these at time of check out but the receptionist didn’t even ask how my stay was...

Food was ok but again, nothing really special. Sadly I won’t be staying here again on my next visit to St Andrews and won’t be recommending the hotel to my colleagues.

User

Disappointed in service & menu. Too many young people with little or no training & too menu items missing or not as described.

Pity- as a great location & building

User

Extremely disappointing

We booked a room for a night in this hotel to end our wonderful trip in Scotland, we wanted to treat ourselves for this occasion.

We will for sure remember it: we had a ground floor room, view on the street. The room was clean but outmoded, a nice refreshing wouldn’t have been a luxury! But above all, there was none sound-insulation: between the noises of the cars and our room neighbor, who was unfortunately insomniac that night and made us share her TV program and her phone calls half of the night.

My partner went to the reception desk 3 times to inform them about it, one of the employees even went to the room at 5 in the morning to notice the noises.

After an almost sleepless night, we went to the reception desk for check out, and the receptionist asked us if we had a pleasant stay! No communication between the team, no apologies, a perception of “too bad for you”.

We have already stayed in hotels of this standing, therefore we have been very upset by the lack of service and professionalism of the staff, and by the dilapidation of our room.

I think that one of the priorities of a hotel is to make sure their clients feel good and mostly that they can sleep! We had a standard room admittedly, but that cost more than 320 euros for a night. We found this unacceptable. It is really below what we can expect from a hotel like this.
