Wow, Hazel is about to celebrate a big birthday and is asking for donations to us instead of gifts!! How generous and supportive is that?! Her page can be viewed on the link below 😊 Thank you Helen, and we wish you a fantastic day 🏇

Despite Justtextgiving closing down a couple of days ago due to changing consumer behaviour, there are still other ways to donate to SSF. • You could pop into the office with cash or a cheque - we'd be delighted to see you 🙂 • Online with Virgin Moneygiving (click link below)
However you decide to donate, all support is hugely appreciated.

We were delighted to have Researcher Tanya Beetham from the Centre of Child Wellbeing and Protection, University of Stirling join us at St Duthus School today.
We have adapted our workshops for children with additional support needs and piloted this at St Duthus School. Tanya, has observed our workshops and spoken with parents and staff. The findings will be available in the final report of our evaluation.
A big thank you to the staff, parents and children for welcoming us and their fantastic work 😃

Congratulations CDT Jhonny 😀
We were delighted to meet the cadets at Culloden detachment to discuss internet safety.
It was a fantastic session with the cadets showing great maturity and knowledge around this area. Both adults and young people realised the need to be more informed.
... The internet is amazing. It has opened up a whole world of opportunities for young people. However, it does have its dangers and we need to ensure it is used responsibly.
We hope to see you all again soon.

Safe, Strong and Free works in every nursery and school in Highland to keep children safe from abuse, bullying and neglect. We’re partially funded by Highland Council, the NHS and the Big Lottery as well as several generous grants from private trusts and funds. All this allows us to keep our workshops free for every child, but we still rely on donations and fundraising from mums & dads, grannies and grandpas and even the occasional bake sale to keep this service available for... everyone.
If your child has enjoyed our workshops and you would like to support us by making a donation, however big or small, please visit our website (http://safestrongandfree.org.uk/donate/) which will take you to our Virgin MoneyGiving page, or how to send a cheque. There’s also lots of information on our website about what we do, including free activity downloads for parents and teachers.
Every penny that’s donated goes to supporting our service, and making sure Highlands children get the best start.

T/Insp Judy Hill collected some more teddies from our office. We have been overwhelmed with the support of the community, but now need to pause and take stock of our existing supplies and usage. We'll keep you up-to-date and post further information shortly.

In 2017 we commissioned the University of Stirling Child Protection Well Being Centre to carry out an evaluation on our pre-school workshops. We are delighted to share out interim report from them - http://safestrongandfree.org.uk/…/First -report-Safe-Strong-… If you have any questions please contact our office on info@safestrongandfree.org.uk. We would also like to take the opportunity to thank all those that contributed to the feedback.

Researchers at the University of Stirling are inviting parents/carers of children who have previously participated in Safe Strong Free workshops, to take part in a short phone interview about your views on the programme. If your child has previously participated in workshops, please consider contacting Tanya or us for further information.

We are so lucky to have this resource in the Highlands. Getting children to talk openly about real issues that might effect them. Each workshop is handled with great sensitivity, but is made fun for the children. Hopefully workshops like these will help children have a voice when it comes to dealing with these issues. Thank you Lianne.

I love how our children are taught how to stay safe while keeping their innocence and how they keep them so amused throughout :)

User

Fantastic way for children know how to keep themselves safe, strong and free. Put across to the children in a way that they will understand, having the children's attention all the time as well is not easy. Keep up the good work Shonda
