Based on the River Annan in South West Scotland.
Salmonschool Description
Our Schools started in 2006, and at least one School has been hosted annually since, these have developed into very successful Salmon Schools.
We can offer a Beginners Course and an Advanced Course, these are subject to demand. Our most popular course is our Skills School which is most suited to anglers who have caught trout on flies, but possibly never salmon. Our Ladies only School has run since 2012 and caters for any level from the complete novice to advanced fisher-woman.
Hosted by Anthony Steel of Kirkwood & Mark Bowler of Fly Fishing & Fly Tying Magazine on our Kirkwood beat of the River Annan in SW Scotland, we also fish on our other beat, Jardine Hall.
We offer expert casting tuition from our instructors, usually Lee Cummings and Ally Bremner.
Our courtyard of cottages at Kirkwood provide comfortable accommodation for all those attending the school.
All meals are prepared (by Rachel Wardall) and are included within the price, and we can cater for food intolerances & special requests if given advance notice. We just ask that you bring your own tipple!
