Used Saltire to service and MOT my Honda VFR1200. Despite not being a Honda dealer, they took time to check and double check the schedule and provided me with a full breakdown and cost estimate at the time of booking. On the day, they got me a more suitable courtesy bike as I had a lot of miles to do. The bike was ready, fully serviced, on time as promised. My only criticism- the apprentice who washed it needs lessons in washing bikes! Shocking state- had to re wash it as soon as I got in!!!

User

So saltire had my gsr 750 for its mot n service can't fault them at all! I was kept up to date with what was happening and when! The clothing department were awesome too in the last couple months I actually think I have tried on every helmet they stock trying to replace my 15 year old agv ... eventually success I am now the happy owner of a shiney shoei!

User

My partner and I called in after she couldn't find what she wanted at the Scottish Bike Show. The range of stock was great, the staff really friendly and the facilities impressive which meant she got everything she was after.

The service was so good she almost left with a new bike and had she not just bought a used one closer to home we'd have driven up to buy from Saltire.

If you live close by you're lucky because we've nothing similar or on the same scale down here in Newcastle.

User

Kieran and Stewart sold me an r6..customer service was a delight from start to finish...no pressure and genuine honest guys to deal with..ill be in for my next bike aswell thanks very much.. *****

Just back from a very useful (everyone should do it) and also enjoyable bike maintenance class with Tommy. Would recommend to anyone - not just for safety reasons though that’s probably most important; but also for good maintenance and looking after your bike which is only going to save money or prevent problems in the long run. Thanks Saltire.

Incidentally, I also bought my bike here and was really impressed by the sales style, enthusiasm of staff, recommendations and advice. Complete contrast to where I bought my first bike, which will remain nameless here. But pretty sure I’ll be heading back to Saltire when I next trade up

User

I've used Saltire Motorcycles for years and have always had great service from them. Whether it is work on the bike or sales they are helpful and honest. A great shop and not surprising they have won awards!

User

I recently bought a V-STROM from Saltire and found the service to be absolutely five stars ! Thanks Davie !

A few days ago I went to their new maintenance class with Tommy and all I can say is that I wish I had gone to it sooner. It is the ideal class to go to when you pass your test. How else are you supposed to know these very important maintenance steps for your bike ? Tommy was fantastic and very patient. He has a great skill in making things seem very simple. I would really recommend this class to anyone !

User

I did my CBT at Saltire (with Roddy – very patient instructor!), then purchased a 125 which I used for commuting over the next 10 months, before finally booking my DAS. Training on the big bike was great fun – the SV650s used by the school are brilliant bikes, non-intimidating and easy to learn on. John and Nigel are top class instructors and very easy-going, which put me at ease throughout. The actual training for mod 1 and 2 was very thorough and I felt fully prepared going into both tests, which I passed first time. From my own perspective I’d definitely recommend practicing on a 125 for several months before attempting the DAS – for me it was important to come to the training with a decent level of bike handling, so that I could concentrate more on roadcraft in general (reading signs, road positioning etc). Would like to thank John in particular for his mentoring throughout – really humble and interesting guy with the right sort of attitude toward motorcycling. Cheers!

User

I chose Saltire Motorcycle Edinburgh starting from the CBT to DAS based on word of mouth recommendation and online review.

Having went through their training and passed my Mod2 today, I can vouch for their service and training method.

Amazing friendly staff, which I cannot thank enough. Among them are my CBT instructor Roddy, my DAS instructor Nigel & John, Callum, Kieran, Joleen, Scott, and many other staff that I have met but have not get the chance to know their name.

So if you are thinking of getting bike license, look for Saltire Motorcycle Edinburgh. Having ridden motorcycle for 10 years on 125cc and then 8 years absent from riding, I went through all the process in just under 1 month.

User

Having never sat on a bike to getting my full licence through DAS, I can’t thank everyone at Satire highly enough. I chose them based on their outstanding reviews and am so glad I did. Travelled an over 500 mile round trip (twice!) to train with Saltire and the whole process from booking over the phone to arriving on my first day to do CBT, then onto the “big bikes” I had a brilliant time.

The instructors are extremely knowledgable, patient, very experienced and professional! (I can’t possibly comment on the quality of the singing or jokes though!...) They understand everyone has different learning styles and experience and are able to work through anything if you’re happy to turn up with a positive attitude and trust them.

All the staff, choice of kit and bikes for sale, and the on-site cafe really are second to none. I ended up purchasing a brand new SV650, helmet and other bits and pieces and could not be happier with the whole experience.

I was absolutely thrilled to pass in November 2017, and though I meant to post this sooner, I had another beautiful run yesterday on Foxtrot which reminded me. So thank you to Nigel, John, Roddy, Kieran, Lindsay and team, and to anyone I missed out - you’re all brilliant.

Choose Saltire, you will not regret it!

User

Have just completed my Mod 1 and 2 with Saltire and have to say the experience has been outstanding from the start! The whole team has been welcoming and friendly, with the training package being delivered professionally whilst still having a great time out with Nigel and John. The showrooms are incredible and certainly recommend making a stop here for anything biking - cheers guys!

Had such an amazing experience with saltire motorcycles while renting one of their bikes for a 6 day trip through Scotland and Skye . I dealt with Alex and Gill who were extremely helpful, quick to reply to any emails and we're patient with me even though I changed my mind many times (even on the day of) . It's such a joy to experience such a well run company .I would definitely recommend them for hiring or just to visit for a view of their many beautiful bikes . Thanks again guy!

From walking into Saltire to have a chat about getting my bike licence, to buying my nice new Tracer 700, the experience has been second to none, everyone from accessories sales, cafe, admin, bike sales, to instructors have be fantastic, helpful and very friendly, I would highly recommend them for anything to do with motorcycles, I would only like to know John (instructor), when does the voices stop, left mirror, right mirror, safety check, head up ride on. Thanks again you made a lifelong ambition come true.

After having no experience on a bike other than passing my CBT I was skeptical about passing my DAS first time.

I had Nigel for my training and he was absolutely brilliant. On a professional and personal level he really made it easy for me.

I struggled initially with my confidence but Nigel remained calm, cut to the chase and essentially guided me through my Mod 1 with no faults at all!

User

Beginning to End was Phenomenal

I done my CBT at Saltire on January 2017 and passed it the next month, the first part of it gone well, then I came back to do the second part and I was having difficulty getting through the second part and Roddy recommended that I do more Study and said I must pass my Theory Test before continuing the final part of my CBT which I did, I was back in about a couple of weeks to do the final part of my CBT and Nigel helped me really well with it.

10 months later I was back to do the Training, Tests Preparation and Tests for my A2 Licence. I failed the MOD 1 Test twice but passed it on my 3rd attemp. After that I done the MOD 2 Test and failed it once, but passed it on my second attempt.

A Big Thank You Very Much to Roddy, Nigel and John for their help, support and Amazing Tutition for helping to get me through my CBT, Training me and preparing me for my MOD 1 and MOD 2 Tests.

I will definetly be coming back here in the future to do the Training, Tests Preparation and the Tests for my unrestricted A Licence.

Brought my bike to Saltire's workshop for it's repairs and to get it's first full service with me. It's due an MOT soon and I hope it passes first time with me. All the work on the bike is well done.

Another Big Thank You Very Much to Lindsay and Joleen that took care of everything for me and everyone else that helped me, supported me and kept me on the right track with everything.

If your wanting to do your CBT, Bike Test or looking for anything else, I Couldn't Recommend Saltire Motorcycles Enough.

Really Satisfied and it's been an Absolute Pleasure spending my time with a Friendly, Welcoming and a Great Bunch of Folk that knows their Job and what their doing.

First Class Indeed :-)

I had Nigel for my training and he was absolutely brilliant. On a professional and personal level he really made it easy for me.

I struggled initially with my confidence but Nigel remained calm, cut to the chase and essentially guided me through my Mod 1 with no faults at all!

Amazing service! Saved our holiday after my ktm blew up and I had to get my old bike mot'd at 6 hrs notice. They also fitted a friends tyre at 24hrs notice!!!

Cheers!

Had to phone Saltire today in the hope to find history for my lovely gsxr as the di*k he*ad i bought it from lied to me then blocked me from contacting him, cheers gibby.

Any way, Ian Cooper from Saltire couldnt of been more help today and gave me more than i could of hoped for. The receptionist i spoke to the day prior was also very helpful, highly recommend the company as the customer service diamond. Thanks again

Great selection of bikes and fantastic selection of kit. Really knowledgeable staff that help you buy what's best and suited rather than what's most expensive!

I particularly recommend the Merlin leather jacket, mega comfy, great protection, looks great and doesn't cost the Earth.

User

From walking into Saltire to have a chat about getting my bike licence, to buying my nice new Tracer 700, the experience has been second to none, everyone from accessories sales, cafe, admin, bike sales, to instructors have be fantastic, helpful and very friendly, I would highly recommend them for anything to do with motorcycles, I would only like to know John (instructor), when does the voices stop, left mirror, right mirror, safety check, head up ride on. Thanks again you made a lifelong ambition come true.

User

Completed my DAS with Saltire last week and really can't recommend them highly enough.

Everyone is very helpful and friendly and full of useful advice. Knowing where the best burger vans are is a definite bonus during a cold day of training!

Cheers guys!
