When I looked at some of the reviews for sandylands. I was a bit worried & considered changing our minds..... So glad we didn't. The caravan was spotless, the staff were really nice & helpful & our daughter loved the entertainment staff. It was nice & close 2 the train station as my partner and I don't drive, it was perfect 4 us 2 get about. The ferry 2 the isle of Arran is well worth a trip. Weather was fab 2.

User

We are jst back today and we had a fantastic time bt the only let down for me was nisa shop never got there delivery so limited stock of things we wanted and chip shop only open 2 nights, which was a let down but restaurant girl very polite and do a good deal on breakfast, singers were brill on Saturday night and had a gr8 old jig lol xx

User

Had a lovely long weekend with our granddaughters, the caravan was very spacious, clean, all kitchen accessories necessary were provided and had heating in all 3 bedrooms. The children's entertainment staff were fab and friendly as were the pool staff, a bit of a delay at checking in but wasn't a big deal, staff were on hand for explanations . Overall we had a lovely weekend and the Complex/ Shop ect were ample for the price of the short stay. Would definitely recommend and return for a short break.

User

User

Well all I can say is the curtains in the caravan are not good enough to make bedrooms dark. The play park no good for a 2 and half yr olds .the caravan was meant to have veranda furniture.out of 3 chairs 2 where broken asked for fresh chairs never to be seen again. You dumped veranda stuff at the side of are caravan and some of the stuff had nails sticking up are grandson was running around so I wasn't happy.also the tv is too high up so when watching it hurts your neck after so long

User

We stayed here this weekend on the way back from Grannies Heilan Hame which was a beautiful site. Unfortunately this site is far from their standard. The entertainment staff were brilliant and reception very helpful but the site itself is untidy, litter everywhere, the play park was dirty and covered in litter and general maintenance very poor.

User

To be honest i will be back but hoping that the pull out bed isn't broken next time, restaurant is okay but it shuts alot I mean whats the point in having a lunch menu from 12-5 but most days it closes at 2pm until 5pm also chip shop was never open the whole 5 days we were here 🤔 And am really glad this wasn't a holiday with any children as there is nothing for them to do at all, a small park, arcades, swimming and a show!!!! great for adults to relax n unwind but didn't really want to drive for a restaurant

User

Would not recommend and won’t be back.

Had a very bad experience the manager also very rude and in my opinion patronising.

We came down as a large family group 8 of us on the 9th of July My Daughters birthday.

3 family’s in one caravan what we didn’t expect was to only have 2 rooms we where told there was nothing they could do site was full we wouldn’t get a refund either if we left. 3 separate family’s sharing 1 caravan which meant one family had to sleep on the pull out couch no privacy atall and no storage for there things. We paid for bed lining which also wasn’t in the room for the pull out bed if u want to even call it that, no pillows had to request all of these. I was told before arriving they would make it special maybe a few balloons etc in the caravan manager informed me no information was passed to her which was shocking. As I am 5 months pregnant this was a very stressful experience. The other family that was in the other caravan was also very disappointed. The whole time there we spent away from the site because it was dirty toilets weren’t clean hardly any entertainment for the kids. In my opinion the whole experience was disgusting. Had to go to reception a few times staff weren’t helpful atall. When I actually asked for pillows because we didn’t have any the lady at reception told me they were actually low on pillows and had to maybe go out and buy some. Totally laughable the whole experience I will Never be back and I will be warning others. Never to go here. Dirtiest caravan site we have Ever been on caravan windows where covered in birds poo was disgusting.

User

Will never be back here , worst park I have stayed at .

On arrival what a welcome girl never even looked up just asked for ref number and drew a pen along map to your caravan ( warm welcome) . On getting into van were met with food run marks on wall ,windows covered in kids snot or slavers and microwave stinking of curry .After a visit to reception a cleaner did appear . Next find was a small amount of what looked like human waste in shower, oh did I mention the shower leaked oh so did toilet , handy man did turn up an managed to fix toilet but shower no . When my partner became ill we phoned reception to ask for a doctor ( maybe one linked to caravan park ) we don’t have one. “Try phoning some of the local doctors “was the answer . We left 3 days early and would not recommend this place as it’s we’ve got your money so we don’t care about you now. Cheers Sandylands

User

We came here looking for a fun filled family weekend away and were so disappointed from the moment we arrived. Got told multiple stories by different members of reception staff about check in times. On booking we were assured caravans would be close to one another as we had 5 young children between 3 adults ranging between 4 months and 6 years old. Once arriving we were told they couldn't give us a caravan close together as they did not have any due to park being full. So after over an hour of waiting at reception we headed to our caravans. A caravan across from one we had was empty the whole of out stay. We also reported a problem of no hot water 4 times. One by phone once by talking to a member at reception and another the security guard as after waiting 20 minutes in reception ringing the bell and no-one coming. The following day after phoning again that night and leaving a message someone finally came to check heating by which time we had managed to get boiler working.. and with the park supposedly being full the entertainment during the day was very poor with about a 5 children turn out. Very little activities for children to do. We had to go into salcoats itself to try and find things for children to do after taking park on all that was on offer for the ages of our children. Swimming pool shut between 1-3 daily. Toilets wete a discrage after seemingly having been cleaned. Outwith reception staff who were very unhelpful and a few rude, other members of staff were pleasant. Will never be back and wishing we hadn't came. So disappointing and a complete waste of money.

User

The site is so unkept litter everywhere. Staying in the touring area no money is put into it, toilets are vile don’t think they had been cleaned in the 2 days we were there. The grass hasn’t been looked after so was patchy and muddy. The area where you would put you’re awning up was just stones so couldn’t put out seats out.

Club itself the staff were great. Food was delish and pints reasonably priced.

If I was stopping in a static i’d recommend this site but for people who are in motor homes, tourers and tents. Find somewhere else xx

User

Stayed here last night was absolutely repulsed. Showers, toilets, touring area all vile. Wouldn’t let my kids use the facilities never seen anything so bad in my life. £30 for a night too - expensive compared to some lovely sites we’ve stayed on throughout Scotland. Rough as they come.

User

Shame for this park as it could be a nice place for a wee break one major flaw letting it down is the management one female in particular whose customer relations is deplorable. She has no people skills for dealing with any issue and basically washes her hands of having to reach a satisfactory resolution. The actions of this individual has lost this site a sale of one of their static caravans not professional at all.

Disappointed and won't be back

User

Manager nowhere to be seen, clubs only really suitable for younger kids, they take things off the activity plan without letting people know leaving kids in tears, security vans park in disabled bays, swimming pool gritty on the floor, toilet filthy along with disabled shower and shower in caravan didnt go hot so cold showers this week. Hairs in the shower thay did not belong to us, under beds not only filthy but items left by previous guests. The smell coming from the factory next door is vile - especially on a hot day. Chip shop was closed for most of the week which we were not advised of when checking in. I won't be back again - doesn't matter how good the deal seem. Also entertainment passes count for jack all - most activities have to be paid for and rarely last the full hour they are supposed to. Drinks are a fortune as is the shop - the only saving grace for this place is the on site restaraunt which was fantastic - delicious food and very very good staff. No manager available at night time - except the entertainment manager who was plain rude! We left a day early as couldn't take anymore of the place. Paid extra for an upgrade and when I phoned reception to point this out on day 1 I was told it was an extra wide caravan and that was the upgrade - it was tiny! Restaraunt as I said was very good, however they need to clean the bases of the tables. Toilets in the arcades were disgusting too.

User

Caravan was disgusting with thick dust under the seats in the livingroom and had chewing gum stuck to it, kitchen cabinet door had food on it, doors were dirty and the whole caravan was in need of a really good clean. The reception staff just didn't seem to care about our complaints, spoke to them everyday about the caravan getting cleaned and was promised this would be done, but all that was cleaned was underneath the sofa cushions. In the arcade a lot of the machines weren't working or were faulty but had no signs on them to say this so ended up losing money, the restaurant food was good but totally overpriced for what you get and also was in need of some tlc with seats in poor condition and very stained. The kids disco at night was a little misleading, they got to meet one of the characters and then there was a little bit of music which doesn't really seem like a disco to me. Starland Krazy was enjoyed by our 8 year and was probably the only thing enjoyed about our time at Sandylands.
