I stumbled upon this place by accident tonight. Great food, good value for money and the friendliest barman I've come across in a long time. I'd recommend this place to anyone. Just a good, honest, unpretentious local bar, with amazing pies and mash. Thanks for making me and my daft pal welcome. You might regret it, 'cos we'll be back!
Highly recommended! If you are at Edinburgh you really have to go to this pub! A very nice place to meet new people and enjoy a drink! The barman is always very kind!
Hidden gem with a great selection of real beers and malt whiskeys. Sports on a television but with sound discretely turned down so you can enjoy a talk and still watch your team win. Live music, Excellent service from cheerful folk behind the bar

A superbly friendly, warm and welcoming pub. Great selection of beers both bottled and on tap. Alongside carefully curated real ales on a rotation that always garuntees a fantastic pint: whatever your taste. A variety of folk music evenings, quizzes and live sport mean the place is always worth a visit.
A proper pub on the Southside - it must be doing something right if it gets me walking up there from Leith
Nice bar with great selection of beers. Some 'colourful' conversation from some of the early customers...but that said the Scotch Hop was definitely worth a visit.
