We've been exploring Scotland since 2011 and love sharing our experiences here. Many visitors make a beeline for a handful of popular spots such as Edinburgh Castle, the west bank of Loch Ness and roadside views of Skye. But our message is: go off the beaten track too and you'll stumble across the experiences to make your trip truly awesome!

SOBT provides the ultimate collection of places to visit around Scotland - admittedly with a few gaps which we're working to fill. Our continually expanding online guide currently covers over 1, 400 places all over the country, including more than 350 walks. Lofty hill climbs, short afternoon strolls, tourist hotspots (yes, they're here too) and little-known gems; whether you're planning a holiday or exploring your local area, hopefully you'll be able to find inspiration here.

We aim to tell it like it is. If we love a place, we'll say so. If we were underwhelmed, we'll mention that too. If we don't feel a place is worth visiting, we won't feature it at all.
