Aberdeenshire has a range of privately owned and NTS gardens that kindly open for Scotland's Gardens, raising money for local and national charities. We have it all, from immaculate parterres to woodland glades, with allotments to cottage gardens.

GLENBERVIE HOUSE at Drumlithie, Stonehaven will be open for Scotland's Gardens Scheme this coming Sunday 4th August 2-5pm. This is a traditional Scottish walled garden on a slope with roses, herbaceous and annual borders along with fruit and vegetables, but it's most striking feature must be the Victorian-style greenhouse which takes up one wall. It contains many species of pot plants and climbers including peaches and figs. In addition there is a woodland garden by a burn is... punctuated with many varieties of plants. Admission £5.00, children free. Garden owners chosen charity is Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance - SCAA Please note some steep pathways and tree roots can make walking difficult in places. Gravel pathways are not accessible for electric wheelchairs. Please no dogs. More details -

Our next Open Garden is Parkvilla, 47 Schoolhill, Ellon. Saturday/Sunday, 27th and 28th July, 2pm - 5pm Admission £4.00, children free. This is a hidden gem of a garden that has won awards including Ellon Best Garden. Plants rarely seen in north east Scotland are lovingly arranged in this south-facing Victorian walled garden, developed from a design started in 1990. On street parking is very limited, but there are public car parks just a 5 minute walk away.... Garden owners chosen charities are Ellon Men's Shed, Alzheimer Scotland and St Mary On The Rock Episcopal Church, Ellon. More details and directions -

Open this coming Sunday, the 14th of July 1pm - 5pm, is DRUMROSSIE MANSION HOUSE, tucked away in the village of Insch, just 2 minutes from the A96. The main 3 acre garden comprises of a walled garden with mixed borders, large lawned areas (ideal for the teas!) a newly planted orchard, and a productive fruit and veg garden with greenhouse and poly tunnel. Admission £4.00, children free. Garden owners chosen charity is Insch Parish Church.
