We went during the day and it was a lovely atmosphere. Very chilled out, sitting in the sun at the waterfront listening to the music. All the food we tried was great! Nice to see a few different vendors to the usual ones found at the other Glasgow street food venues as well. I was a bit dubious after reading bad reviews this morning from the opening night, but we all had a great time. I don’t mind paying an entrance fee either, that’s the norm at any of the regular London events I’ve been to. Not sure why people are complaining about that specifically to be honest

User

Had a cracking day on Saturday. Arrived about 4-5, lots of seats, cushions and blankets for when it got cold. Toilet roll, soap and paper towels in clean toilets. Food was great, magic selection. Bar staff were great fun and super friendly. Lovely cocktails and really nice red wine. Music was superb. I can’t get over the different bad reviews on here, had such a brilliant day. It was quieter because of the football and the royal wedding, nothing to do with the small cover charge. Worth every penny, if I wasn’t so rough on Sunday I’d of been back again. Look forward to next year...

As one of the traders within the Farmer's Market area, we would like to say a huge thanks to the unbelievable numbers of people who turned out to sample the goods on offer over the weekend!! Thanks especially for your patience with the queues :-) With events like these, it's always tricky to gauge stock levels, especially on a weekend predicted to be bad weather, this usually equals much wastage for people selling fresh or home baked produce as we do. To the contrary, the turnout was utterly unprecedented and certainly exceeded anything we or indeed the organisers, I'm sure, could have hoped for. We are very much looking forward to the next event which is promising to be even bigger and better, now we all know the levels of interest! On behalf of my 5 and 2 year old, thanks to the team at Mini Maneuvres who organised the kids events - they loved it and spent the whole day at the event and in the museum. As traders, we found the organisers to be professional and well organised throughout in spite of unforeseen turnout leading to parking and queuing issues. Well done to all and here's to the next one!! :-D

Absolute belter of a day. Great food, drink and music - Glasgow needs more of this! Well done everyone involved, magnificent weekend. Also, to everyone moaning about queuing times, parking and the event not being akin to markets in London etc, please remember that Glasgow doesn't have many events like this and everything needs a chance to develop. Supporting these events and giving them a chance to grow means we will have a richer offering overall in the long run.

User

In Canada, we don't get many events like this. We only have a few food trucks, however we have a rib fest that highly ressembles this street food festival. All in all, we loved our experience. You don't go to an event like this with the expectation to wait 5-10 minutes in a queue, so the 30-40 minutes that we waited for a hot dog was fine for us! The wait was worth it, as the food was delicious!!! Even with the down pour, we laughed and had a blast! We had parked at the science museum and walked over, which was a decision we made based on reviews of the parking, however some friends joined us and had no problem with parking in the designated lot.

The only issue we had was the Mac n cheese stall who ripped people off with their money. Gave a 20, only got 8 back, when price was listed as 6. We only noticed later on, so we didn't go back, however our friends said they noticed 3 people in the queue before them that all mentioned getting the wrong money back when paying! If you do the event again, I wouldn't recommend getting them as a vendor (they were not on your list to begin with so not sure why they were there).

User

Advertised 4pm didnt start till 5.30 so that was disapointing also lots more seats needed but apart from that a well enjoyable evening

User

This has potential to be great but not as well organised as it should be. Queues and wait time for food was far too long. Waited nearly an hour for burger and 45 minutes for pizza. Really wanted to try the Shrimp Wreck van but the queue and waiting times were ridiculous. Smaller menu selections and perhaps smaller taster portions for faster turnaround would be better and allow you more time to sample a bigger variety. Staff were friendly though.

User

This could have been so much better if it was free like last year. £8 admission for on line booking was absolutely ridiculous. Why would it be cheaper to pay on entry?

The food was amazing and the music. Unfortunately it was exceptionally quiet due to the entry fee. Come on glasgow get it right for next time. This should be about foodies enjoying great food, good music and coming together, not getting ripped off for the privilege.

User

After the logistical ball-ache of actually getting into the place, we were faced with crazy-sized queues to get fed. The vendors were trying their best and were well-mannered under the circumstances of having to invariably deal with people who'd spent ages in a queue. To the event's credit though, if it was a £5-pint you were after that was no trouble at all.

This felt like an event designed to herd in silly amounts of people with barely a thought spared towards their experience, and basically treat them like cattle with wallets.

User

Waste of time, badly organised. Opened over an hour late, staff not knowledgeable of event, they didn't even know where the ticket office was...

User

Total waste of time and money. No one had a clue what they were doing and no updates given. Was a total farce and I think everyone should be given a refund.

User

Really disappointed to have turned up for the festival at 16:45, adertised as 16:00 opening, only to find it was nowhere close to being open or ready to serve food. My wife and I have now left to go somewhere else for dinner. A total waste of time and very poor from the organisers. I would not recommend this event based on my experience

User

Over priced entrance just to be able to buy food from excellent vendors who are probably getting overcharged for their pitch as well.

User

Not great for Scotlands best food festival, don't know if your price for vendors was too high or you did not expect as many people but vender to guest ratio wasn't great. We ended up going inside to the museum for food and a coffee. I also never even found the farmers market section. You should look at food festivals you get in London such as spitalfeilds and brick lane. The ques are minimal and the selection of street food /markets and bakeries are outstanding. For the amount of promotion the event had online it was built up for disappointing.

User

Nightmare trying to find the main entrance.

I actually paid more online than I would have at the gate to get in!

Over priced food.

No bins.

Rubbish bars.

Foolish security.

Have the organisers ever been to the FREE OF ENTRY Copenhagen indoor street food market?

Poor effort.

Don't think I'll bother next time.

User

Never write reviews but this was a joke. £8 each for a ticket (bought online) and when we got there the tickets weren’t even scanned. Arrived around 4pm on Sunday and half the stalls were packing up, the bar was empty and the atmosphere was awful. Gutted because it was for my boyfriends birthday and it was awful. Ideally would like a refund.

User

Cost £12 for entry and arrived at 4.30 to a small car park with 4 food vans. Bar wasn't ready and no one could say when it would open, still not open at quarter to six when decided to leave as 4 food vans does not make a street food festival. Very disappointing and would like a refund.

User

Badly organised event. We arrived and found no signs telling us what way to go in only ways we couldn’t. Lots of food vans but very little of anything else. Expected more than to be charged to get in and then pay for all food. We saw 3 stalls that were giving tasters before you buy and 2 of these were cheese. On top of this once you had decided what ‘street food’ you would have to eat you had no where to sit as no where near enough benches etc. Also only found 1 bin and that was over flowing. Such a shame for all the traders that had turned up! If you do bother going I can recommend the following food ... soft shell crab and Chick + Pea do amazing flatbread

User

Absolutely shambolic, meant to open at 4pm then 5pm and they are still building things. No one here to talk to as they have abandoned the ticket booths. If you expect people to pay for something at least have it ready on time.
