Nigel Dupree, Project Director for the S. M. A. R. T. Foundation, initially developed a "tool-kit" to enable the functionally and digitally illiterate to read fluently on-screen and partnered with Biometric Screening Ltd to create a practical and objective on-line, on-demand occupational health version.

The patented application of this on-screen technology has been developed to diagnose Screen Fatigue or Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) and includes an interactive ergonomic display screen optimiser (DSO) to mitigate the debilitating symptoms still being reported by display screen equipment (DSE) user operators in the workplace.

The Work related DSE (Display Screen Equipment) user operator "Visual Risk Assessment" tool-kit objectively assesses the degree of "DSE Operator Fatigue", related to sub-optimal ergonomic calibration, invites them to use the interactive DSO in order to arrive at a custom individual setting / calibration of their screen for them.
