Called today to report a problem with my Hyundai ix35. I was told I would have to pay £85 for a diagnostic report, before they would carry out the repair or book it in. I informed the girl that the car was only 2 years old and still covered by Hyundai 5 year warranty. Apparently I still had to pay the charge as they had never seen the car before. I have called around several other Hyundai dealers to ask if they take this charge, and been told that the diagnostic check and repair are both covered under the Hyundai 5 year warranty. If this information is wrong then their staff need better training. If it's correct I can only feel that I am being fleeced by SDM and will stay well clear of them.
