We agree!!!!
Poached pear on the menu with chocolate mousse!!!!
Wild Mallard from Johnny Rutherford just in on the menu tonight!!!
What a really great place, first it’s comfortable and there is warm welcome with very professional service, then the food, superb salmon platter, lamb slow cooked and melting in the mouth, Cod cooked to perfection, great bread and butter pudding, the owners focus on the ingredients and then cook them with a lot of skill and passion to a level of perfection, and all for a moderate price, is the perfect combo, we drive an hour to get here, I’d drive 2 times the distance just for the salmon This family partnership must love food and really enjoy others enjoying it too, the passion and dedication is just stupendous , highly highly recommended .
Roger cooking Wild Mallard - one of our most popular dishes at the moment
We get fresh fish daily from Ross
A fantastic display to mark the 100 th anniversary of the First World War - well done all involved!!
This was a lovely Sunday evening, best steak I have ever had! The restaurant had a lovely cozy welcoming feel and the food was delicious. Service was great and made most welcome on a cold night! They had a great selection of wines and the menu was very seasonal yet a great selection to choose from. I didn't have any dietary requirements but I'm sure they would be able to accommodate alternatives."
Roger preparing red cabbage for our mallard dish - we love this autumnal vegetable!
A beautiful morning down the Yarrow valley
We are thrilled to be included in the Michelin Guide for the third year running
Just picked up the rest of our handmade plates from Kinsman-Blake Gallery Smailholm. They have a Sale starting 1st November...........early Christmas presents?
As regular visitors to lovely Melrose over the past 3 years we have eaten in nearly all the local restaurants in town - including, on our most recent trip, the newest. We can confidently say that Seasons is still, consistently, the pick of the lot. The combination of Roger's fine cooking of best local produce, Bea's friendly, unintrusive service and the understated convivial surroundings all make for the ideal dining experience. Long may Seasons keep up the great work !!"
An amazing amount of work for a fantastic cause.
Creme Brulee with Raspberries one of our most popular desserts
Selkirk Bannock bread and butter pudding - try it with a nip of Selkirk Bannock Gin!!!
Pheasant terrine on the menu this weekend served with Rogers damson jelly
Having been visitors to the area a number of times, we had always intended to have a meal at Seasons. We are now sorry we haven’t been before because everything about our visit was simply fantastic. We were given a warm welcome and a nice table for two. We had a glass of the house white and red wine which were well chosen and certainly not over priced. Fresh water was also provided without having to ask. Now onto the food....... This restaurant served up a meal that we can ...only describe as faultless. I have been fortunate to eat in a number of top restaurants in London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, etc, including Le Gavroche and this meal was up there with any of them. We tried the cured salmon and the scallops with black pudding crumb for starters and both were fantastically cooked and presented. For mains, we had the braised beef cheeks and the roe deer. Again, the meat was lovingly prepared and excellently tender. Presentation was again very strong. IT WOULD BE NO EXAGGERATION TO SAY THAT THIS RESTAURANT IS MICHELIN STAR QUALITY! You must go. We will certainly be back.

We had a lovely meal at Seasons tonight with our 2 year old and my husbands parents. The food was delicious especially the asparagus with poached hens egg. The owners were very accommodating of our little one, bringing him a half portion off the main menu and also some extra tomato ketchup! Lovely relaxed atmosphere and child friendly. We will definitely be back.
We enjoyed another fantastic meal last night - delicious local food beautifully presented and right on our doorstep. Thank you Roger and Bea.
Visited today for lunch. The staff were lovely, the food and drink were locally sourced and fresh. Fabulous!
This place is so warm an welcoming. We ordered the venison Wellington with dauphinoise potatoes, kale and wild mushrooms to share and enjoyed home made soda bread and butter with a complimentary glass of prosecco while we waited. The meal was absolutely delicious! The flavours were lovely. We both had a creme brulee with rhubarb and shortbread. Beautiful. Will definitely be back.
My boyfriend and I came down last night for our Valentines Day meal. The food was absolutely delicious, very well presented and well priced. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip and will definitely be back! The staff were also very friendly and helpful. Great experience

Great lunch this afternoon. Absolutely fantastic.
Great local seasonal food with very friendly and helpful staff. Hope to be back for dinner on Wednesday.
Great food and hospitality the whole evening was very enjoyable thoroughly recommended
Good local produce, great meal and friendly staff, and a great area for a wander before or after your meal. 😀
Food was so well presented and just absolutely delicious . The staff were very attentive . I would definitely recommend this restaurant ...my only disappointment is that it's a bit far for me to dine there as I was there as part of a steam train excursion to celebrate my 30th wedding anniversary ....I'm so glad that I chose this excursion as one of the options..
First time visit - loving the locally sourced produce relaxed dining atmosphere ...and loved the dishes we had. We will definitely return
During our second weekend break in Gattonside within 6 months we were delighted to return to Seasons for dinner on 2 of our 3 nights in the area. This is a truly exceptional, relaxed, informal small restaurant serving top quality food cooked to perfection by Roger and served with cheery, courteous efficiency by Bea. Right up there with the very best !
Delightful lunch for Mother's Day. We were looked after very well and the food, as always was delicious!
