Sec-Ed Malawi Description
Background:
After a visit to Malawi to see a friend who worked there in 2015, founder Janet Weir was horrified to learn that children are not allowed to attend secondary school unless it is privately funded. Janet met someone in Blantyre who she asked to help her, help children get a secondary education. Sec-Ed Malawi (name came later) was unofficially formed and two children (one at boarding school) have been supported to attend secondary education in 2015 /16.
In February 2016 Sec-Ed Malawi became a constituted group formed by individuals from a variety of backgrounds and age groups, most of whom are passionate about the importance of education for children all over the world.
