Selkirk Tennis Club

Selkirk Tennis Club is a clubmark accredited and family friendly club. We welcome new members and offer a pay as play option for casual players.

Selkirk Tennis Club was founded in 1944 and is a vibrant and inclusive club welcoming all new members and casual players.

Originally located in the centre of town near Mungo Park it moved to its current location in the mid 1980's.

In the sixties the club thrived and members often had to join a rota to get a game! In the seventies the Saturday tournaments were a feature and members paid one shilling to participate.

From the early 70’s junior coaching became as it is today, an important feature. Every Friday night and Saturday morning the courts were full of children learning the basics of the game.

Lottery and other sources of funding have assisted the development of the club including the installation of floodlights on two of the three courts.

As well as an active junior section there are two men’s and two ladies teams competing in the Border League while regular social tennis takes place on Monday evenings with a “social tennis” session on Friday mornings.

Visitors are very welcome; if there is a free court just pay and play!
