New Year Message
I have at home a little booklet that I keep near my bedside. It is a book of helpful Bible quotations with the title “Keep Calm and Trust God.” If ever there was a time when we need to do just that, I believe it is now and the following are some of the Scripture passages that I have found very helpful. I have included twelve, one for each month of the New Year. God’s word says:
... You will keep in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. (Isa. 26:3) Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid: do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. (Josh. 1:9) The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation. (Exod. 15:2) Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (Ps. 119:105) God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Ps.46:1) Come unto Me all you who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. (Matt.11:28)). Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. (Prov 3:5,6). I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jer. 29:11)). Be still and know that I am God. (Ps 46:10) May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. (Rom 15:13) Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. (Rev. 14:12) Behold I am coming soon! (Rev 22:7)). It is because of who God is and what He has already done for us, that we can trust Him even more so for the future. This gives us the complete assurance that He will continue to uphold, love and reveal His wonderful loving plan in our lives. I believe that God’s plan, until He comes, is for us to remain strong and faithful as we both keep and share our faith in the places where we live and worship. It is no accident that we have been called to Scotland at this time and we can commit ourselves to live out the theme and motto of the Scottish Mission for the coming year; “It’s Time, to be devoted, daring, decisive, working together to make Him known in Scotland.” I believe that God will give us many opportunities to do that in the coming year. May God be with you all. Maranatha. Pastor Paul Tompkins Scottish Mission President.

The local 'Messy' church in Crieff works hard for the community and participates whenever it can, whether or not the people they work with are 7th Day Adventists or not. I think it's great :)
