Shallowplough is located in the heart of rural Aberdeenshire in the small hamlet of Inverebrie just outside Ellon, 40 minutes from Dyce airport and 35 minutes from Aberdeen City.
Whether your visiting us on business or on holiday our location is perfect for walking and cycling, with lots of fantastic walks and trails throughout the rolling Aberdeenshire countryside. The Formartine & Buchan Way is just minutes away giving you various options of a 53 mile trail, suitable for walkers or cyclists.

For golfers there are plenty of superb courses locally including the famous Trump International Golf Club, Cruden Bay Links, Oldmeldrum Golf Club and Murcar Links Golf Club.

We are fortunate to have some of the most beautiful beaches and coastlines such as Cruden Bay, Newburgh and Balmedie nearby. For a real treat check out the colony of seals on Newburgh beach, they are curious little things and will swim up to greet you.



For historic castles and properties you are spoilt for choice and can follow the castle trail. Haddo House is a stones throw away which is now a National Trust property with lovely grounds that is the home of Lord Aberdeen. Shallowplough was once part of the Haddo Estate before it was sold off as a farm.
