Shannochie Self Catering Cottages

We absolutely loved Kilbride cottage! Christine was there to meet us on arrival and was most welcoming. My husband and l stayed with our two doggies, Ellie and Mollie - they loved the huge garden which was so safe for them and the little tiny stream at the bottom is a real feature.
The cottage itself was lovely and warm and cosy, most welcoming after a day out - our weather wasn't very good, but we had a great break and the girls had lots fab walks on the beaches. The kitchen has absolutely everything one could need and we cooked several meals at home in the evenings. Lots hot water!! lovely long baths to relax in and unwind with a glass of wine.
The bedrooms are nice and cosy with warm beds, we would return tomorrow if we could!
Ian enjoyed fishing off the little harbours around Corrie where we saw seals and our favourite beach was Kilmory.
We think the previous people who wrote the bad review must have stayed somewhere else and got themselves mixed up!! Maybe a five star hotel would have been better for them!

If your booking a visit to Arran avoid Kilbride Cottage owned by Shannochie Cottages.
The best comparison I can make is that it is akin to a prison cell, its dark , dingy and dirty.
We booked a weeks holiday at Shannochie and got put in the hovel called Kilbride Cottage which we found to be nothing short of depressing.
The cottage offered nothing, no views, poor parking on a main road and we had to clean it before we even started to unpack.
We tried to make the best of it but gave up after only 3 days and came home early.
We saved hard for this holiday only to be disappointed with very poor accommodation.
Unfortunately we could not afford to book into better accommodation and had to come home.
They claim that the cottage has been extensively renovated but still retains character.
Well if filth and discomfort are what' passes as character then Kilbride Cottage has it in abundance.
