Silversands Caravan And Campsite

The site took a bit of finding but it was worth it. We pitched right next to the sea, wow. The site is not pitch perfect but it ticked the box. We were there two nights but unfortunately the weather kicked in quite severely, with very high winds and torrential rain. The site is good for the train station and the ferry port, which is fifteen minutes up the road. The guy that runs it was very good and helpful, but we had a devil of a job to try and get him to answer his phone. However he did answer later and he came over as an extremely pleasant guy.

Without a doubt, Silversands is my favourite campsite I've been to! Myself and two friends ended up here after our satnav took us the wrong way to Skye and we missed the last ferry over to the island. Every campsite in the area was fully booked - Silversands included. However, the owner (I unfortunately can't remember her name) went out of her way to accommodate us and managed to find a space for us to pitch our tent. She could have easily turned us away as the site was full, so it was really nice of her to do this - we would have had to sleep in our car somewhere nearby if not! Great customer service aside, the scenery surrounding the campsite is absolutely stunning and the site has excellent amenities. I will definitely be returning in the future, although this time it will be planned haha!

Perfect. Can't recommend highly enough, purely from a location perspective. Pitches are as close to the stunning beaches as it is possible to get, but are also sufficiently spread out. Even at the height of the season it didn't feel crowded. Friendly owners, and not overpriced. Facilities are adequate.

Beautiful scenery. Lovely owners. Been coming here for over 30 years and never disappoints.

Found the silver sands area by accident whilst headed to Skye! Decided to stay!
Everywhere booked out but was accommodated here at silver sands and had a great spot to camp with the dog!
Lots for kids to do..friendliest feeling campsite around the area.

Not a place for party groups. It's calm and peaceful.

Magical sunset and glorious beach!
10 mins drive to Arisaig or Mallaig

Coming back soon and will book ahead.

Great site, well run. This is such a beautiful place with so much to enjoy. No ravers partying all night. John was really helpful & friendly. The shower block is lovely and clean & well kept. The showers are amazing! Good, long power shower for £1 - well impressed. Will definitely go back. Thanks 😊

An absolutely fabulous site in one of the most beautiful places on this big, old, spinning ball. You'd be mad not to spend some time there.

I have been coming to silversands for 47 years. Turquoise sea silver sand and a view to die for. John the owner keeps the toilets and showers very clean. And John will go that extra mile to help you and make your stay just perfect. Can't wait to go back.

Went here with a few swimming friends in July, and liked it so well we returned in August. It's got the right combination of friendly welcome and rules for everyone to be comfortable (1030pm quiet, for example), and it is sited beside sandy beaches and the views are fab. Facilities basic asic but clean and well maintained. (washers, dryers, loos, showers), Local knowledge at the check in place. Electric hook ups available. You can have fires as long as they are lifted off the ground. You could, of course, have beach fires. Nice walks, good swimming.
