Hi, I’m Siobhan!
After years of struggling with my own unhealthy lifestyle and the low self-esteem that brings, I decided to make a positive change in my life by embarking on my fitness journey. This turned out to be a life-changing decision as I became passionate about health, fitness, and nutrition and strived to learn more. It was a lot of hard work, but I wouldn’t change it for the world! Now I’m a qualified Personal Trainer and have started SiobhanFIT to continue my passion and help others. This journey has helped me to become a healthier and happier person, and I would like to help you become that person too.

Something exciting happened at the weekend - I bought my first flat! 🏠⁣ ⁣ Trying to buy a flat on your own is hard enough without adding being self employed into the mix. ⁣ ⁣ This wouldn’t be possible without all of my beautiful clients, past and present. I’ve been a bit absent on here recently, so I thought I’d make a comeback by telling you 10 facts about me! ⁣ ⁣ 1. I have NEVER had tea or coffee... it freaks me out to be honest! 🤮⁣ ⁣ 2. I have a phobia called papyrophobia... can you guess what it is? 🧐⁣... ⁣ 3. When I was a kid and was asked ‘what do you want to be when you grow up?’ I said ‘homeless’ because I thought you got a complimentary dog.. 😅⁣ ⁣ 4. I sleep walk 😴⁣ ⁣ 5. I watched Bohemian Rhapsody in the cinema six times... if you haven’t seen it yet, I recommend that you do 🤯⁣ ⁣ 6. My favourite food is probably sandwiches, you just can’t beat a good sandwich! 👌🏻⁣ ⁣ 7. I am obsessed with orcas and can’t wait until I eventually see some in the wild! 🐳⁣ ⁣ 8. I’m still suffering with jet lag and on Canada time.. that means I still get to post photos from the holiday 👀⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ So while I was away I didn’t gain much weight - less than 2kg. There’s a few reasons for this.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 1. Due to me sitting at a heavier body weight at the moment (approximately 14kg heavier than my lightest), I get to consume more calories to stay at maintenance which is amazing. This makes it harder for me to gain any more weight.⁣⁣... ⁣⁣ 2. Although I ate what I want when I wanted, there wasn’t a crazy amount of snacking in between meals. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 3. On two occasions my lunch was so big that I didn’t need dinner (intermittent fasting, right? 😜)⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 4. We walked quite a lot - kept our #neatup247 ⁣⁣This is the easiest thing for anyone to manipulate when trying to lose fat. There’s only so much time you can spend working out, and you have a set amount of calories that you can eat to drop fat whilst also not going insane and binging. So where’s the wiggle room? In your NEAT! (Non Exercise Activity Thermogenisis). Get those steps up, it makes a bigger difference than what you realise! ⁣⁣ ⁣ Body weight isn’t something that I’m particularly concerned with, as mentioned earlier, the heavier I am the more I can eat (which is needed when you’re as short as me!). But as we enter into 2019, I’m ready to drop some body fat and lean down again while maintaining as much muscle as possible. Progress update: Rebecca has lost just shy of 3.5 stone since February! 🎉 Yaaaas! ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ In this time she has had a pretty tough time with her heath, and has even been through surgery to remove her gall bladder, but she stuck with the process! ⁣⁣⁣ Rebecca has been an absolute dream to train, soaking up all of the information that I have given her and just getting on with it, asking questions every session to better educate herself. ⁣⁣⁣... ⁣⁣⁣ So how did she achieve these results? I’ve been a little bit of a social butterfly recently 🦋 . A few years ago, the thought of going out for food and drink so regularly would stress me out! . I was so concerned that I would undo all of my hard work that I would end up avoiding the event altogether!... . Picked up this wee eye mask today in the hope that it helps me in my battle to beat insomnia! . I developed insomnia at the end of last year after the passing of my boootiful doggo, Buster (swipe to see his wee facey 😍). . Although emotionally I’m absolutely fine, my sleep is still all over the place! He used to sleep in my bed, so I became accustomed the his weight, his warmth and his snores.... . Being sleep deprived isn’t only frustrating, but it effects my fatloss goals as well! I’m someone who trains in the morning, but my lack of sleep has been stopping me training. It also makes it significantly harder to say no to tasty foods (usually something sugary as my body is desperately seeking some energy) that don’t fit my calorie goal. . So not only am I missing out on my workouts, I’m also putting myself into a calorie surplus by eating foods that I don’t actually need, but my brain is begging for a pick me up. A tired mind and body makes it hard to fight off these cravings! . Not ideal for my goals now is it! . If like me you have trouble sleeping, try working on your sleep hygiene and see if that helps you achieve your goals! .
