Skypath Aero Training Centre

About Skypath Aero Training Centre

Skypath Aero Training Centre has been established through a training partnership between Ayrshire College, the University of Strathclyde and Chevron Aircraft Maintenance. Other partners include South Ayrshire Council and National Manufacturing Institute Scotland. The Skypath Aero Training Centre is now open at Prestwick Aerospace Campus – Scotland's largest aerospace hub and home to over 50% of Scotland's aerospace workforce. Through the Ayrshire Growth Deal, £80million is being invested at Prestwick, positioning Ayrshire as one of the UK's leading centres for aerospace and space. Already recognised globally for excellence in MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul), aero structures and design engineering, Prestwick's aerospace capabilities now also include the fast-growing area of aircraft decommissioning. After the setbacks from COVID-19, the aerospace sector is now expanding with aircraft orders once again rising. New training courses are being offered free of charge to people who are over 25 and either unemployed or under threat of redundancy to gain new skills in the aerospace industry.
