Slater Hogg and Howison went above and beyond to help me to find a flat and move in incredibly quickly. Rebecca worked with me to find a place in my budget and the area I was looking for, and also helped me to get in rather quickly. Responses for maintenance have been fast and helpful. Overall great experience so far.

The Dundee Staff (Stacey&Emma) that I have dealt with have been very friendly and helpful. I like that they call you every so often to find out how your property search is getting on and recommending any upcoming properties that are available.

UPDATE:
I have now moved out and despite cleaning the property prior to handover I am facing a £160 bill for "Deep Cleaning". The check out inventory stated that "light cleaning" was required, a fair assessment as I had missed one or two very small spots inside a couple of drawers. Despite this information and that the property was handed back cleaner than I received it, I am still left fighting to receive my deposit over 3 months after vacating.

If you still decide to rent with this agency despite this review, I would advise you not to bother wasting your time cleaning when you leave as they will likely bill you for a "Deep Cleaning" regardless.

Initially, my experience with them was better than most. The tenancy was setup fairly easily and the staff were helpful and friendly. Overall it was a good experience. After living in the property for nearly 2 years, I can report that this level of service has not continued.

The first issue we had was with the washing machine. In fairness, this was dealt with relatively quickly and we had a new machine within 2 weeks.

At the start of January, we reported a leak in the roof which was causing water to stream into the master bedroom every time it rained. This took until mid March to repair and resulted in a section of the ceiling collapsing. During this period our rent was increased.

More recently, I reported that the heating has stopped working. At the time of writing, we have waited for more than a week, with at least one evening dropping to -6DegC, and are still waiting on "a second quote". After receiving this information Slater Hogg then decided it was appropriate to setup viewings at the property as we have finally had enough and decided to hand our notice in.

I also reported several defects with the communal areas such as broken light bulbs etc. to both Slater and Hogg and the property factoring agent around 6 months ago. Not one item has been addressed.

The factoring agent has also illegally permitted a company to issue parking tickets in the car park which Slater Hogg have decided to completely ignore.

To sum up, I have lived in a Slater Hogg property for almost 2 years and it was the worst decision I have ever made.

This company is the 4th letting agent I've dealt with and they are the only people who haven't let me down. Miles more professional than the others and the are more proactive than reactive.

Currently rent a property from Slater Hogg & Howison. Good communication and helpful staff. Would recommend to others.
