Went in for lunch on Thursday 22nd March with my daughter. Place appeared spotless. Service was excellent. Our waiter was great. Happy to chat with us when he had time. We had the giant pornstar martini, which was awesome. The sharing platter was good too. Chips slightly cold, but everything really tasty. We finished of with the sharing dessert and an espresso martini each. We really enjoyed our time there. Will be back again.

Was at slug and lettuce 25/5/18 with friends for dinner and drinks before a show, we all had fab time waiter was great, and cocktails were half price!! That made a huge difference, we all enjoyed.

Had the most amazing lunch and cocktail tasting platter since I've arrived in Edinburgh, it's a pitty I found this place on my last day ;(

Enjoyed a lovely meal and bottle of wine then cocktails. Staff although under pressure as place was busy, were cheery and helpful. Enjoyed the visit very much.

We arrived at 1.10 without having a booking told the waiter we were going to matinee show at 2.30.

Our food and drink order was very quickly brought to us by a very pleasant waiter Chris . We even managed a second bottle of prosecco before leaving for theatre we’ll on time.

14 of us did a cocktail making class last month for my hen party, Maggie was the lovely lady who hosted for us and it was just the best craic! She made the whole experience so much fun and couldn’t have been more accommodating to the individual needs of the group. Thank you so much Maggie. I would definitely recommend this place.

Went for lunch yesterday with my daughter and 3 year old granddaughter. We were warned that we could have a bit of a wait and were asked if we were going to a show next door at the Playhouse to which we replied that we were. They couldn’t guarantee that the food would arrive in plenty of time but as we had about an hour and a quarter we decided to take a chance as everywhere else was exceptionally busy. Happy to say that the food arrived in plenty of time and was very enjoyable. The girls who seated and served us were very nice, friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend and would return.

Lovely food, incredible bad service. We were a party of 8 who had preordered as we were going to the theatre. Waitress never came back for drinks order. Very slow in between courses. Mix up with puddings. Had to ask for prosecco that was included with our meal. Wasn’t busy and nobody rushing about but trying to get them to help you was hard work!

Booked this as close to pavilion for a meal before the show. However service slow and only managed 1 drink and just finished meal then had to run to the theatre

Went here yesterday and it looks amazing from outside.ordered 2 breakfasts,1 eggs benedict and 1 chicken wrap.the 2 breakfasts should have been without beans both came with beans,the food was cold,the eggs benedict was also cold.asked for a coffee and it was like hot milk.my chicken wrap was ok but I was finished my meal before the rest of party got their meals retuened to them so had to sit while they finished.wont be back.

The food couldn't be faulted however the service could. Waited an age to be seated despite the staff not appearing to be too busy. Got stuck at a little table between the kitchens and the toilets so spent the entire meal with mostly staff passing between the kitchens and the staff area. The waitress was disinterested and never even checked how the food was.

I was here on friday night. Got seated right away. Table was set but it hadn't been cleaned. Sticky. Service was ok but daughter found a hair in her food. Sent it back and got a replacement and wasn't charge for it. No a great experience x

Went in here last night for a cocktail before our show after waiting 25 mins at the bar service was so slow and only had two unfriendly staff on when we said how long we had waited they only said get to you eventually we ended up walking out and going to the Prosecco bar across from it which I have to say was first class won’t be back and definitely don’t recommend keep your money and go somewhere you can get served imagine how long you would wait if you ordered food

Went for dinner and cocktails with my mum. Ordered 2 cocktails to start. 1 arrived at the same time as my food, however the girl has apologised, which was fair.

Then ordered another cocktail and actually wanted to order more, however no1 was interested in serving us by this point even though we had staff attention. We then also waited half an hour with empty glasses and plates to even get the bill .. Which was a severe struggle. Watched staff looking around for empty tables, yet still never approached ours, and I watched possibly a manager? Looking around, then chatting to other staff members laughing away. The place wasn’t busy therefore it wasn’t an excuse. When the girl finally came over, she looked so disinterested it was ridiculous.



Also, while waiting for the bill, we actually complained via Facebook since we couldn’t get anyone’s attention and again 30 minutes later when we had our bill and had moved on, to which still no response. Wouldn’t return again 🤷🏼‍♀️

We went Saturday and had travelled from Durham in a group of six to celebrate some birthdays. First visited around lunchtime and sat on high table and had half price cocktails for a few hours and sharing platters. After exploring for a while we returned to Stand in a queue for a table only to be told once we were at the front we wouldn’t get in unless we had booked. We wandered round the bar tables and found two people sitting on a table that could sit ten people and they reluctantly let us sit there after trying to claim there was a group of them. The couple left and we proceeded to order more cocktails. After about 15 minutes a member of staff plonked a reserve sign on our table and abruptly told us we had an hour. We tried to reason with the manager but his response was that the table must have been empty before the reserved sign was placed (Not true). We were finally moved to the restaurant to be greeted by an abrasive waitress asking us who said we could sit there! We decided to opt for another sharing platter with cocktails and reserved a table elsewhere for dinner, we had spent £300 in total and had been treated like second class citizens! Staff definitely need re training in customer service, they all look miserable and make the customers feel like they are a burden.

My husband and I were asked to leave the bar and cancelled our drink order instead of being offered food to allow us to stay due to their licence restrictions. Disappointed and the judgemental manager who would not let us purchase drinks and allow the children (ages 12 and 8 ) to play outside.

We also ordered a platter and without notifying us before hand, platter was bought out with changed items on it as they had "run out" of some items, 80% of it was not eaten.. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Beer was over £5 a pint, table was filthy and sticky and the furniture was dirty and worn. We only went there because Witherspoon’s had 8 beers off, can’t imagine why anyone else hoes there!

The couple left and we proceeded to order more cocktails. After about 15 minutes a member of staff plonked a reserve sign on our table and abruptly told us we had an hour. We tried to reason with the manager but his response was that the table must have been empty before the reserved sign was placed (Not true). We were finally moved to the restaurant to be greeted by an abrasive waitress asking us who said we could sit there! We decided to opt for another sharing platter with cocktails and reserved a table elsewhere for dinner, we had spent £300 in total and had been treated like second class citizens! Staff definitely need re training in customer service, they all look miserable and make the customers feel like they are a burden.

My husband and I were asked to leave the bar and cancelled our drink order instead of being offered food to allow us to stay due to their licence restrictions. Disappointed and the judgemental manager who would not let us purchase drinks and allow the children (ages 12 and 8 ) to play outside.

The review is for the food and waiting time. Yes it was very busy and this was relayed to us but the food came out stone cold, 5 of us had steaks and not one of them looked anything like a 10oz rump steak.. We also ordered a platter and without notifying us before hand, platter was bought out with changed items on it as they had "run out" of some items, 80% of it was not eaten.. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Beer was over £5 a pint, table was filthy and sticky and the furniture was dirty and worn. We only went there because Witherspoon’s had 8 beers off, can’t imagine why anyone else hoes there!
