What a fabulous weekend spent enjoying some ‘countryside tranquility’ with friends while testing out our soon to be launched Muirfield holiday house.
After our meal out on Friday at Forgan's Broughty Ferry we had a full day of relaxation planned for the Saturday.
With a walk to the dam to get fresh air, followed by a nice healthy lunch at Muirfield. We then spent the afternoon creating mandala drawings and then taking part in a guided meditation session which properly made u...s unwind and just pause our thoughts.
Of course we had some homemade cakes to keep our energy up in the afternoon; and it wouldn’t be a stay at Muirfield without a trip to the hot tub! (The G&T rounded it all off nicely!)
Looking to escape with some friends for a weekend? We can put you in touch with experts in yoga, pilates and mindfulness to help you switch off and give your body some self care. Just drop us a message.

THINGS TO DO IN ANGUS - DAY TRIP 1
If you'd like to explore Angus this year, we've pulled together a series of day trips around the area on our website
https://www.smahame.com/things-to-do/
... Today the spotlight is on Kirriemuir; there is so much to do around that area;
Start off with a trip to the Gateway of the Glens Museum to hear about the history of the town and its connection to Peter Pan author Sir JM Barrie and AC/DC Singer Bon Scott.
Pop into 88 degrees afterwards for a quick refreshment and some delicious luxury chocolates.
Then head upto Kirriemuir Camera Obscura for a unique look on the area; it was gifted to the town by Sir JM Barrie. There is a massive play-park next door which is ideal if you have kids with you.
You'll need to get back in the car at this stage for a short drive out to Loch of Lintrathen, where you can take a peak at the wildlife on show using some of the bird hides available.
Just along the road a little further you'll come across Peel Farm - food, home and gift It has a fantastic cafe along with a farm shop which stocks an array of gifts, local produce and antiques for your home. They have a little nature trail outlined and some ducks that you can feed.
Finally take 5 minute drive along the road to Reekie Linn Waterfall, it is a short walk from the car park but with a 24 metre drop in a stunning setting it is one to go see.
There really is so much to explore around Kirriemuir; locals, seasoned vacationers to the area - have we missed anything off our list? Visit Angus VisitScotland

Living on farm we pretty much live outdoors, so we can take it a bit for granted.
However, we've noticed recently how many people comment on how nice it is to switch off and enjoy the quietness.
On this so called 'Blue Monday' are you taking the time to get outdoors and give your mind a break?

Our sheep have just had their ultrasounds on the mobile trailer unit this week.
The count down to lambing is really on!
We scan the sheep, and then mark them with a colour to show how many lambs they are carrying; single, twins and triplets +. This is so that we can provide them with a diet to suit.
... In the video you can see the ultrasound when the sheep is stopped on the TV screen.
Our lambs are due mainly in March/April but a few may appear end of February. We also mark any who are showing particularly late on the ultra sound so we can watch for any concerns along the way.
Keep an eye on our page for more updates as we approach lambing season on the farm - it's going to get busy!!
