Sharks sign Belfast boy:
The Solway Sharks sponsored by Building Craftsmen Dumfries are pleased to announce the return of Belfast based forward Adam Robinson for the 2018/19 season.
The 21 year old forward iced 8 times with the Belfast Giants last year and has gained valuable experience as part of their squad and training every day with them. He was meant to be part of a 2-way deal last year but education commitments meant that it was difficult but Adam returns ready to kicks...tart his Sharks Career.
Adam is a product of the Belfast Junior Giants and has also played in the GMHL with Meaford Knights and will be looking to continue his development and gain valuable game time and help the Sharks achieve success this coming season.
On signing Adam, Head Coach Martin Grubb remarked “We would like to welcome back Adam Robinson for the 2018/19 season and look forward to him being able to combine his hockey between here and Belfast.
“It was difficult last season with work and study but the training he gained with the Giants has helped him and he was determined to come back and gain more valuable game time as he wants to keep improving with ourselves and also the Giants.
“Adam works hard and is willing to play in the dirty areas and will help this team in any way he can and that is a quality that will help us as we aim to keep improving and I look forward to working with him again”.
Adam Robinson Commented “Solway has always been a club that I have been attached to, I feel that my game is at a stage where game time is precious.
“Martin has a great reputation of developing young players and pushing then to the best they can be.
“After skating with the guys this weekend I know we will be challenging for a top seeded position. We have huge depth and everyone is on the same page with regards to trophies”.
Adam Robinson’s #17 jersey is available on the owned and loaned scheme, priced at just £100 per shirt. If you are interested in this or any sponsorship options then contact rab.murray@solwaysharksihc.co.uk.

Scott steps up to seniors:
The Building Craftsmen Dumfries sponsored Solway Sharks are pleased to confirm the return of forward Scott Henderson for the 2018/19 season.
Scott is a product of the Solway Sharks junior development program and has combined playing juniors and seniors for the past few years and this year sees him take the step into full time senior hockey.
... The 19 year old forward picked up 27 points last year and is always known to come up with big goals and none bigger than his playoff final goal 2 seasons ago on the way to the treble. He is a big skilful forward who can also play a physical game when needed and he will be expected to take the next step in his development as a full time senior player.
Scott has represented Scotland at various age groups and been part of the GB selection process as well as getting some Elite league experience on a 2-way with Braehead Clan.
Head Coach Martin Grubb commented “Scotty is a player who has done well in the past few years combining junior and senior hockey and now we expect him to push on and continue his development.
“He is a big guy who skates well and can score important goals and this year we will be looking for him to find a consistent level of performance and impact games.
“Scott has a great attitude and looks after himself and he is someone who will keep improving and we are happy he is back as part of our group and look forward to helping him improve even further”.
Scott added “I wanted to come back to solway this year in my first official senior season after growing up watching the sharks and spending my entire junior career here playing within the junior setup.
“Over the my final few seasons of junior hockey I was given the chance to play up to the senior team and this has given me experience playing at the senior level, so this year I hope to be able to use that experience and make an impact in the league and help the team compete to retain our titles from our treble winning year and show the ex-EPL teams that this is still our league.
“I’m excited to get back on the ice and get the season underway”.
Scott Henderson’s #89 shirt is available on the owned and loaned scheme, priced at just £100 per shirt. If you are interested in this or any sponsorship options then contact rab.murray@solwaysharksihc.co.uk.
