About South-West Edinburgh Community Sport Hub

Enhancing sport and physical activity provision within South-West Edinburgh.

South-West Edinburgh Community Sport Hub Description

Established in April 2013, South-West Edinburgh Community Sport Hub is part of a national project to raise the capacity of sport in Scotland. Community Sport Hubs, sportscotland’s contribution to the Scottish Government’s 2014 legacy plan, aim to increase the number of people of all ages participating in sport and physical activity in local communities across Scotland.

The nucleus of the hub will be at Heriot-Watt University with the surrounding geographical areas included in the hub's remit, such as Balerno, Currie, Juniper Green, Wester Hailes, Sighthill and possibly out to Ratho. However, the geographical area is in no way defined and the hub will work with clubs & partners out-with this region whenever appropriate.

There are currently 10 clubs involved with the Hub:
- Balerno Bowling Club
- Corstorphine Table-Tennis Club
- Currie Football Club
- Currie Rugby Football Club
- Currie Star Football Club
- Dunedin Netball Club
- Edinburgh Spirals Trampolining
- Edinburgh Weightlifting Club
- Edinburgh Wrestling Club
- Kingsknowe Golf Club

Something more helpful for the coaches among us! As a coach it can often be challenging to communicate with two groups; parents and children. Hopefully this infographic from BelievePerform can help.
