Our expertise is at the cutting edge of image processing. By combining patented Image Fusion with Deep Learning we can reveal more colour, detail and clarity in a scene. The smarter the processing, the more the image reveals the richness of the moment.

Spectral Edge is a Cambridge-based start-up with a world-class R& D team, created from the Color and Vision Group (part of the School of Computing Sciences) at University of East Anglia (UEA), Norwich UK.

We were spun off as a commercial entity in 2014 to exploit research into image fusion and color perception technologies for a range of applications on computer electronic (CE) devices, including computational photography on smartphones, multispectral vision and content enhancement for TV and OTT streaming video services.

Our mission is to improve the viewing experience of all visual content by pursuing the perfect picture for each individual viewer.

Our engineering team, who collectively have over 100 years’ experience in imaging R& D, are developing a portfolio of image enhancing IP products based on our patented “Phusion” technology.

Our IP is available for license to smartphone and TV manufacturers as well as service and OTT TV content providers, so they can differentiate their products by providing their end customers with a wow-factor visual experience.
