Speyside Whisky Experience

Nice two day tour of Speyside with friends Natalie and Ryan from New York. Not often you need sunglasses at this time of year! We covered a good selection of distilleries and enjoyed the wonderful scenery.

Amid “tropical” temperatures for February, I hosted Nalla and his two friends from Singapore on a two day tour. Not only distilleries but a wide tour of Speyside as seen below.

First tour of the year with brothers Jasper and Boudewijn from Holland. Over an enjoyable day and a half we visited Benromach, Aberlour, Glenfiddich and Macallan. Hopefully their knowledge and appreciation of single malts has been enhanced...

A festive post today. While touring with Adam and Ellie from Australia on my last tour of the year, we came across a festive science at Glenfiddich.

A late season two day tour with Ive and his friends from Sweden. The weather was reasonably kind as we visited Benromach, Glenfarclas, Glenfiddich, Macallan , Aberlour and Cardhu.

Enjoyed two days touring Speyside distilleries with Rachael and Brandon from Los Angeles. Although late in season we covered a good selection including Balvenie, Glenfarclas, Macallan, Cardhu, Aberlour, and seen here in the ‘Club Room’ at Cragganmore.

While touring with Josh and Angela from USA last week, also took these photos at Macallan and the Blending Room At Strathisla Distillery.

In the quiet season , decided to give myself a wee treat with a tour at Balvenie. Excellent tour and tasting with a big thanks to Charlie for a great afternoon.

With the season winding down, I was pleased to host Jolene and Matt from Salt Lake City on a tour of Speyside distilleries . We contrasted the old with the new - from Strathisla to Macallan (below)

Lovely day for touring Speyside distilleries with Jessica and her husband on honeymoon from Australia. Their requested tours included Strathisla, Glenlivet and Macallan.

Traveling a bit further afield this tour with Karin , her husband and friends from Florida. Seen here in the cask warehouse at Balblair, which we followed with Glenmorangie and Glen Ord on a beautiful Autumn day.

Nice day touring distilleries with Tyler and Mandy from USA. Covered quite a distance but they enjoyed the scenery and the drams.

Working with SNEW Travel Agency of Brazil, we arranged a four day full itinerary for a group of six Brazilians who were keen to learn about Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Covering many Speyside distilleries with visitor centres and a private tasting at Gordon & Macphail they left with a much better appreciation of our national drink. Seen below in the VIP room at Cardhu.

Casey and Mike from USA travelled north to Speyside just for a days distillery tour with me. We even managed a quick dram at Balvenie Castle below.

Nice day touring Speyside distilleries with Mitch and his father and friends. It was something he he hoped to do for years and finally got the opportunity on a trip home from Australia.

A return visit of old friends from Canada, Ian and Hamish this time were joined by Ian’s daughter and her friend. We covered many miles and distilleries over a four day Highland and Speyside tour.

Two days touring Speyside with the guys from the French Riviera Whisky Club. We visited Benromach, Macallan, Cardhu, Cragganmore, Glenlivet and Glenfarclas , and had drams in between. ...whew!

Very interesting to see around the newly refurbished Glenallachie Distillery with my Chinese guests. Thanks to Richard and Mike for the hospitality.

Yesterday Chris and I got to run around Speyside with Derek and oh boy did we have a load of fun! Derek was filled to the brim with amazing insight into whisky as well as the background of all the distilleries and the history of the area. Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime adventure.

We had a wonderful time with Derek his knowledge and expertise in all things whiskey was second to none.

Our knowledge of malt whiskey was very basic until we met Derek.

We would recommend using Derek for your spey side whiskey tour.

You will not be disappointed.

We had a lovely experience with Derek. He had the best stories, the greatest ideas, and went out of his way for us to take pictures in front of all the distilleries, flavor new whiskies, and even feed the highland cows! Thank you again Derek it was quite the experience!

OK Whisky Lovers... THIS IS THE GUY. I had the great opportunity to spend two days with THE MASTER - No serious. Derek is a ENCYCLOPEDIA of Whisky, Scotland, and every cool thing to see and do in the area. He even found a GREAT spot to drop off my MRS. for a equally fantastic shopping experience, while we were sipping whisky from the GODS. He is a official "Keeper of the Quaich" - so when you are out rolling around with him, it's like hanging out with a ROCK STAR. I am sending all my Whisky brothers and sisters to him with my highest recommendation.
