It was officially advertised in the evening news yesterday that Spice Lounge Kitchen won curry house of the year 2018, 3 years in a row never done before.
Now as mentioned that Corstorphine is the curry capital of Edinburgh

You wouldn't think it because of its understated location but the food here is just superb,

I've dined here both at lunchtime and evening. The food is relatively simple but so so tasty. Never once had a bad portion, far less bad meal. Its a step above the cuisine closer to town centre. Because of that, the cost doesn't leave any aftertaste also. 1st rate.

User

This is a fabulous place to go. Whether it be just for drinks or bar snack or a meal this place has it all. I've been here many times and never disappointed. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food amazing. It's truly authentic Indian cuisine with personality. My goodness, my lamb dish was absolutely amazing so tender so full of flavour and like night and day from Omar Khayyam in the city. Their lamb was as tough as old boots and the flavour fairy was obviously on strike that night! Well done spice lounge kitchen you guys have yet again been the top place for an Indian meal in my book. Jack our waiter was fantastic too. X

The Monday Night Football Club Descended onto the Spice Lounge Kitchen last night, Daldip and his team were awesome, and made sure we had a flawless meal, I myself had the Murgh Angara (Tikka Pieces) to start and it was melt in the mouth delicious, this was promptly followed up with the best Chicken Korma/Peshwari Nan I have ever tasted! Could not fault the food or the staff and would highly recommend the Spice Lounge Kitchen to anyone. Incredible food backed up with incredible service.

Daldip please thank your team from us they were a credit to you.

User

Love the Tapas Menu. Alternative to Indian for the kids and they loved the Pizza. The wine choice is really good and reasonably priced. Outstanding customer service from Simone who was quick to clear plates and replenish wine. Worth walking through a snowy Corstorphine to get to it.

User

Just back from another stunning meal at The Spice Lounge . Was really shocked to read bad reviews about this place, this was our 5th or 6th visit and have to say I can't recommend it enough, beautiful food, warm and friendly staff in elegant surroundings. Don't let bad reviews put you off, definitely my favourite Indian restaurant this side of Edinburgh.

User

I’ve been there first time but definitely I’ll come back. Everything was absolutely delicious, staff nice and friendly

User

I had the Raan a Tandoor. I loved it, but a word of caution, remember to bring your appetite with you. It was a huge portion of some of the most delicious lamb I have ever tasted. It was a shame to leave some behind.

User

Huge starter, we should maybe of had one between two but we managed. It was a full house when we visited so the main was slow in coming but again the food was delicious so well worth waiting for.

Will definitely be back.

User

Had my 40th birthday here, the Management and staff were absolutely superb, very friendly, very efficient and very helpful, even up dancing with us near the end of the evening.

The food is really good, the bar prices are very reasonable. All of my guests were delighted with the buffet so much so that my 13 year old daughter now reckons Indian Food is her favourite :)

We will definitely be back for more top quality Indian food.

Top marks from me.

User

Had lunch yesterday and it was delicious. Had the Chicken Tikka. Massive plate of food. Place was empty so service was very quick. Had a Bottle of wine in the bar afterwards. Will definitely be back!

User

Found this Indian restaurant via trip advisor, and so pleased we did, hadnt booked but staff squeezed us in, best Indian meal we have had in a long time.

User

Absolutley Excellent, Super Food and Service every time, I have eaten at the Spice Lounge 4 or 5 times since it opened and I have to say I love it .... every experience has been great, the food is always fantastic and the team cannot be any more accomodating. I am from Birmingham so am used to a good curry and there are not that many restaurants in Edinburgh that I will eat in.

I was at the restaurant with 10 friends last night and it was brilliant... Daldip and the team were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble, the food was again superb... The best Indian in Edinburgh by far !!!!

User

Lovely meal food was excellent the only minor thing was it was not very hot when it arrived. On the menu it said to ask about vegetarian options but when we did ask the staff just pointed out what was already on the menu which we were able to read for ourselves. I would definitely return though and would recommend it to anyone.

User

Table hadn’t been cleaned properly, food was ok, definitely had better food elsewhere. Staff were friendly

User

Service was slow. Despite it being a large place and quiet at 2pm, everyone was squashed into the same corner, and would have been nicer sitting away from other diners, or at least with a bit of space! The lunch time deal is good value, the nan bread was very good and the rest nice but not overwhelming! In short, ok for a bite to eat if your passing, but wouldn't go out my way to go!

User

Ruined our family Christmas dinner, table of 12 and we had to eventually give up and walk out, table booked for 2.30 and still no food at 4.30. Felt sorry for my Brother-in-law who had booked it, as this was not his fault, but the lack of staff and poor management. We were not the only ones the tables beside us were exactly the same.

User

Really disappointed ted with this visit yesterday as a Father's Day meal for my husband and dad.

Food was warm, plates cold and lack of food (not quick at replacing)

Still waiting on a response from spice lounge following my written complaint yesterday

User

How this place has won curry house of the year is beyond me! 40minutes for food, service is non existent. Walked out after speaking to the owner who was standing in his adidas tracksuit bottoms! Wow
