Hard to imagine the range of cakes we offer until you come in and see for yourself. Everything home made so we get to play we new ideas and additions all of the time. . . . but it makes it hard to stop an old favourite so the list just keeps growing !

Today’s quiche hot out of the oven yum
Supposed to be relaxing walk up hermitage after work turned out slightly differently. Jack Russell wouldn’t let go of stick and got caught between two rocks. Saw her head go under and stick she wouldn’t let go ... she was distressed and I had to go fish her out .... my blood pressure through the roof but funnily enough she was less bothered though she did cough and splutter for a while !
We are looking for a Kitchen Porter to help with dishes over busy lunchtimes.
Would suit school pupil looking for summer job.
Must be punctual and willing to work. Previous experience preferable.

This is not the best photo I’ve ever taken , nor is it the best looking cake but OMG I’m almost sorry I’ve tasted it because that’s the diet right out of the window - think sticky toffee pudding in a cake - heaven

Nice blue skies before the baking starts for the day.
Sometimes it’s the oddest thing which can make your heart smile.
A family came into the shop with the father most apologetic to say that his son had damaged my pavement sign
A little surprised at the honesty I thanked him for telling me and stepped outside to look.
... Yes my newest pavement sign was indeed broken ... somewhat dismayed I trudged up to have a look to work out if it could be repaired .... hmm perhaps with difficulty.
I turned around and the whole family were standing behind me watching.
I again thanked them for telling me. The father spoke to his ( perhaps 6 yr old son in his native Dutch I think ) and the young lad looked me in the eye held out his hand to shake and when I took it in faltering but heartfelt English he said one word. Sorry.
We shook hands and both of us walked away feeling better and having learned something from the encounter
Made my day.
