Iva Navratilova took this dramatic shot aboard Spindrift IV. We’re looking at this landscape every day but it changes constantly with the light and weather. Thanks Iva!

This is a White Talied Sea Eagle chick on the Skye shoreline. It’s still being fed by the parents. The day was quite windy and it was dancing on this stone as it practiced its take-off and landings.

We’re running from Portree over to the Applecross Highland Games on Saturday 28th June. Departing 09:00 and returning 21:00. Its a great day out: Have a look on trip advisor - see below We are also running back to Portree from Applecross in time for a late lunch. It’s an 11:30 pickup from Ard Dubh and back for 18:30. All the details and to book at Spindrift-boat-trips.co.uk.

Porpoise in the sound of Raasay. One is missing some of its dorsal fin.

User

This is the newly fledged white tailed sea eagle chick waiting to be fed on the Skye shoreline.

User

This photo was taken just after the white tailed sea eagle picked up a fish from the water. It suddenly decided to check out what it was carrying!

User

One of the White Tailed Sea Eagle chicks has left the nest and is being fed by the adult on the Skye shoreline. The chick is to the right of the adult and is ”cloaking” it’s food with its wings.

With Brexit dominating the headlines... Here’s what we were doing on Brexit Vote night. The island of Raasay has 196 on the electoral roll. When the polling station closed we went to work taking the ballot boxes from Raasay to Skye.

User

Check out our video. This is Spindrift IV on a wildlife watching trip. We depart every 2 hours starting at 10am from Portree on the Isle of Skye.

User

Look closely at these pictures. They were taken as a pair of kestrels took it in turn to dive bomb the Sea Eagle. What you’re seeing here is the upward turn after the dive. All my downward dive shots were just a furious blur! The kestrels were just inches from the Eagle at the lowest point.

User

One of the Coastguard Search and Rescue helicopters in the Sound of Raasay today. Hats off to them and the local lifeboat lads. It’s Lifeboat day in Portree on Saturday.

Skye commuter during the rush hour in Portree

User

Richard on form as usual !

User

We thought this pIcture of the white tailed Sea Eagle was worth posting.

User

Watch out for the upcoming video of Spindrift shot by Hugh Campbell. Hugh runs a marketing business on Skye, he’s great to work with.

We had some friends, Martin and Julie Cole aboard recently. Here's Julie driving Spindrift IV.

What an amazing first time experience for me and my friend! Absolutely awesome! George was an amazing captain and the eagles loved him of course! 10/10

User

We smiled from start to finish. Such a friendly welcome and a great atmosphere. Wonderful crew and a smooth ride. We were thrilled to see the sea eagles and seals! And a glimpse of a couple of porpoises too. Would highly recommend to anyone. A real treat to see this wildlife and also fantastic views of the island from the sea. Thank you from Amy & Graham

We had a fantastic outing with Spindrift Boat Cruises. Nigel and Dave took great care of our party of eight (ranging from 3-86 years)! All had a very enjoyable time. Thank you.

User

Took the 2 hrs sightseeing trip from Applecross (Ard Dubh). Fantastic new views of a well loved place. Guys were great, good balance of chat and allowing you to appreciate the stunning scenery.

User

Outdone my high expectations. Our trip was hosted by thecrew Nigel and Dave. On the 2hr trip, leaving at 10am, we spotted three Sea Eagles, various sea birds, porpoise and common seals. The crew were very knowledgeable of the local wildlife and history of the surrounding area. They were engaging and made us feel welcome. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone interested in photography and wildlife. Oh, and it was dog friendily :D

User

Our last day on Skye we decided to take the Spindrift IV boat tour and it was the best thing we could have done! Nigel and Dave were amazing! We saw sea eagles feeding their chick, seals and we were lucky to have lovely weather. Dave and Nigel told us so many stories about the area, from wild life, to history or music! I would strongly recommend to everyone! The boat leaves 4 times a day, so you have plenty of time to fit it into your schedule whilst visiting Skye/Portree. We took the 4pm tour and it was the best way to end our visit to Skye! Thank you boys!! We will be back!

User

Nice relaxing way to see some wildlife. The skipper and his assistant were both very welcoming and knew exactly where to find the elusive sea eagles. The boat had lots of places to sit - we went up to the top for the best views but eventually went downstairs into the shelter when the weather took a turn for the worse. Would recommend this trip if in Portree
