This Wednesday is the fifth and final part of the amazing WW1 series of events in the Kirk. It promises to be another memorable, enjoyable and poignant evening. As always dress warmly, although this will be the first evening performance with temporary gas heating.

User

An evening of music, theatre, reflection and laughter. Stories and reports from near and far as WW1 draws to a close. £8 (£7 for Friends) Followed by hot drinks, sandwiches and home baking.

User

Setting up for tonight's performance. Thankfully not too cold, but if coming along remember to wear enough clothes! (Still only limited heating in the kirk)

User

If you are in the Oban or Lochgilphead Tesco's please remember to vote for St Conan's Kirk in the 'Bags of Help' box. We are one of the charities you can vote for and we are planning to introduce a new woodland path with some activities and information specifically for our younger visitors in the grounds of the Kirk.

We drove past this on the way up to Oban and thought it looked amazing, then spotted it was open to visitors on the way back again so popped in for a nosey, so glad we did, what an amazing find

User

We drove past St Conans Kirk and decided to stop in for a look. So glad we did, what a stunning building and right on the banks of the loch too. If you're driving by and have the time, make sure you stop here for a little visit.

User

Truly stunning, can't believe people go to the visitor further round Loch Awe when this is a beautiful place managed by two incredible people. And the cakes, oh my god, the cakes!

A must for a pit stop, lunch stop, holiday or just because

User

Stunning building with such rich and varied history. Found it by luck as we drove back from Oban. Such a photogenic place.

User

Staying at the local Hotel Awe, I was able to visit a wonderful peaceful church, With views of loch Awe, along with peaceful gardens, the late afternoon sun highlighted the delightful window set high up in the church. I love churches, will hope I can visit this church again sometime in the future ..

User

St. Conan's Kirk is one of my favorite spots on earth. We discovered it by accident one day and have been back twice to enjoy the quiet reverence and beauty of the place. The stained glass is amazing, and the building itself it unique and stunning. I was so taken by the kirk that I used it for a setting for one of my Wildflowers of Scotland novels - Wild Rose. I highly recommend visiting St. Conan's Kirk.

User

St Conan's Kirk is a facinating wee Church scenically positioned right on the shore of Loch Awe in the village of Lochawe in Argyll. Quirky, almost Gothic in appearance a d actually more like a Foley of a building. Architectural concepts and styles have been used from around Europe. This was uilt by a man for his mother...stunning and very popular for Weddings.

User

Pure chance we were driving by, stopped to walk the dogs when we spotted this beautiful little church. It was open too. Lovely peaceful place with views of Loch Awe from their lovely gardens.

User

Lovely look round today, what a beautiful place in a stunning peaceful spot. So many features to look at and enjoy, but my favourite is the hare gargoyle on the loch side of the church, and the sundial garden. Lovely to light a wee candle and contemplate in the peace for a moment. Will be back - and all the best with the restoration works!

User

It's the most beautiful place and so peaceful and it's a place that everyone should go to if they can x

User

I have visited this Kirk a few times now. It's where I go to light a candle for my daughter, as this place gives me a feeling like have never felt in any other place. An amazing ambiance.

User

Got there by pure luck because of closed road to Stirling from Fort William and we had to drive by Loch Awe - amazing place worth visiting

User

Beutiful place, but what an absolute shame and a complete sin that this place is being treated this way. I visited in the rain and the roof is quite frankly leaking all over the place. Come on owners invest some money before this place is ruined. Rant over.

User

Beautiful place, so much to look at and so peaceful, got some fab photos, highly recommend a visit here x

User

Spotted it on the way to Oban the stunning views from the rear of the Kirk is just as peaceful as the Kirk itself.

Well worth a visit

The war memorial outside the Kirk gates is also worth stopping & pondering for a moments reflection
