St James Lower Darwen - a church worth turing up to and where you will always feel welcome.

Welcome to the Facebook page for St James' C of E Church in Lower Darwen and thanks for visiting. The best way to find out more about us is to come along to one of our services of which there are a choice depending on your preference.

The main Sunday morning service is at 10am every Sunday and alternates weekly between the traditional Communion service and "All Age Worship" also known as the "Family Service" which as the name suggests welcomes children of all ages to be involved. On the Communion Services we have "Bible Buddies" and "Cool for Kids" which provide fun Sunday School activities. The groups were named by the kids who attend who didn't want the word "school" in the name - fair enough!

Please check the weekly notices to see which of the services is on any given Sunday but both are fun, open to all and have a relaxed atmosphere. For a quieter experience there is the Celtic Holy Communion normally held at 6pm on Sundays and the Midweek Communion at 6. 30 every Wednesday - this service lasts no more than half an hour.
