I case you missed it, our Bellringers were recently featured in HeraldScotland! The article is well worth a read if you have a spare 5 minutes: https://www.heraldscotland.com/…/170070 83.why-scotlands-be…/

We are truly blessed to have a building that looks as stunning as this.

Christian Aid's photo exhibition, 'Uprooted', which tells the story of people forced from their homes in Nigeria, Kenya and Iraq is coming to the Cathedral from November 19 to December 17. The impactful exhibition is certainly worth visiting, bringing to light the plight of refugees around the world.

St Mary's is proud to be the only Church in Scotland which maintains a daily choral tradition. A recent article in the Church times outlines the popularity of Evensong, it's not long, and is definitely worth taking a moment to read!

A big thank you to our archivist, Iain Morrison, who has compiled a booklet talking about the Cathedral's connections to WWI, as part of this time of Remembrance. The booklet is available at the back of the Cathedral, next to a donation box for Poppy Scotland.

Our Paolozzi window shining beautifully on the stonework in the Resurrection Chapel.

As part of this event, there will be a lone piper outside the Cathedral at 6am, as well as bells ringing out for the end of WW1 and for peace. "Te lucis ante terminum, rerum creator poscimus", before the ending of the day, creator of the world we pray.
Another Sunday draws to a close, a day full of fantastic music making and thoughtful prayer.

Wonderful place! I was shooting a wedding here the other day with a wonderful couple who'd flown over from the States as they love Edinburgh. The Father was incredibly helpful start to finish. The whole family had a great time and we got to work in one of the most spectacular Cathedrals in Edinburgh! Wonderful day! Awesome place!

User

Wonderful congregations and architecture, and one of the best Cathedral choirs in the UK.

User

Visited st. Mary's on Christmas eve ,it was brilliant ..superb choir and enormous congregation, standing room only. Will try to visit again when next in edinburgh.

User

Tranquillity in the midst of city life. Beautiful stained glass windows abound and unusually 3 spires.....wonderful

User

The organ must have been rebuilt since I was there in 1968 as it now seems to be much more brilliant. In 1968, my friend, Dennis Townhill, was organist. The choir was good but has since improved to the extent that prompted another person to write that it is now among the best choirs in the UK. I have many fond memories of the cathedral and Edinburgh. My only regrets are that (1) my year of peripatetic school music teaching there was too short and (2) Edinburgh is on the other side of the world from my home and Cairn Terriers in NW Tasmania.

User

Stunning! Should never be missed when visiting Edinburgh - but I bet 99% of people do!

User

One of the most beautiful churches I've ever seen; absolutely spectacular!

User

Last stop on my 2 week Scotland holiday, and what a wonderful and blessed way to top off the trip with beautiful, spiritual, Evensong. God bless your continuing ministry.

I wis confirmed here, and my faither wis ordained, in the early '60's. Maist of these fowk have gone now, mony proud of the historic role of the Scottish Episcopal Church in oor land's troubled history. But in a city of constant change, the Cathedral aye provides a placey o tranquility, and for contemplation. Long may that continue.

User

I have worshiped here for three years with my family and we absolutely loved it with highest reverence!! Dr. Jetty

User

For once I wasn't Baltic. Have they found how to put the heating on? Yay! My Mother Church.

User

Edinburgh is the most beautiful city that I have been stayed. I really enjoyed every moment I spent there!!!

User

Both-the building and the community- are unique. I suggest more than one visit.

User

Beautiful place, a delight! We enjoyed a service here and took a look at the paintings and history. It's lovely

User

Beautiful inside and out , loved the organ and the sound, the organist was practising for the evening service . The stain glass incredible . It was a lovely church to visit

User

Beautiful cathedral - I loved the Sunday Eucharist service. Edinburgh is a lovely place!

User

Beautiful and serene. Stunning. And a superb music venue, lots of it free.

User

Beautiful . It has an Orthodox icon corner too . Theotokos icon has candles for lighting as well . Music sounds amazing here

User

Only been inside the once and it wasn't so much brilliant, as an eye-opener! The architecture outside is fantastic but it has nothing on what lies inside. Look for my various photographic websites (Google my name) and you'll find examples of the handheld interiors.
