We were lucky enough to be the first ones to try the afternoon tea today and it certainly won’t be my last! Delicious cakes, sandwiches and pastries and the best brownie I’ve ever had! I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a delicious treat in Kirkcudbright! Fab food, fab staff and fab atmosphere, definitely a must!

User

We have had a lovely afternoon watching and tasting ice-cream, sorbets and fruit cordials. Thanks very much! Mmm I think the raspberry was my favourite.

User

We did a pastry making class and rated it first class. Clear tuition, relaxed atmosphere - we thoroughly enjoyed the day and were thrilled with the pastry goods we produced. Breakfast is included in the price and the course is outlined by Nick as you eat. Value for money - yes!

User

The Gourmet pizza and pasta demonstration was fantastic. Nick is an amazing host and a great teacher.

The course was really good value for money and I will be attending more of them.

Great business to have in Kirkcudbright. I would thoroughly recommend attending a course or visiting the cafe.

User

On holiday, couldn't see a course that suited us, so popped in and saw Nick, who at short notice arranged a bespoke course for us.

Absolutely fantastic, informative, friendly, helpful. All ingredients provided.

Enjoyed eating results, which saved buying dinner.

Will return.

My sister and I were the first folk to try the new Spiced Gingerbread Latte this afternoon at the SHCS cafe - gorgeous!! Served with a little star of gingerbread shortie too - delicious! Friendly service, great surroundings - this place will get KBT back on the rails!!

User

My friend Zoe and I were unbelievably impressed by the quality of service and food at our Afternoon Tea Treat today! The food was delightful and plenty of it too! We were so pleased to hear we could take a wee doggy bag home as you certainly get your moneys worth! We also learned we were the FIRST Afternoon Tea EVER! We were honoured! And it will certainly not be the last!

Had the great pleasure of attending the fresh pasta cookery course and I am so glad I did!! It was a fantastic day from start to finish. From our light breakfast and fantastic coffee to our lunch that was the product of our mornings hard work!! Nick was fantastic and his passion for food really shines through in his teaching, I can't wait to get cooking at home now!! Cannot recommend the cookery school highly enough!!

User

Gem of a cafe. Lovely and cosy very friendly helpful staff. Nice food and good selection particularly the home baked cakes to go with a coffee. Placed lived up to its reputation as being dog friendly. Bowls of water provided along with homemade dog biscuits handed out to our pup free. One happy pup two happy owners. Have no hesitation in recommending this place.

Dog friendly good food and service

User

Called in today after sampling some delicious cake at the farmers market. We had a delicious cheese sandwich and some very indulgent chocolate cake with hot drinks. Will definitely return when we next visit Kirkcudbright!

User

Called in after been at the Kirkcudbright Food Festival, I was wanting something healthy and filling to keep me going until I got home.

The young lady that was serving couldn’t have been more helpful (Sorry I’m rubbish with name)! I had a coffee and the soup of the day which was homemade Mushroom & celeriac along with homemade Bread they were both so packed with flavour and filling to boot. This is a wee place that is a must stop off place if your ever in the area!! I hear there cakes a to die for but I didn’t indulge this time but maybe next time I’m in.

User

A refreshingly different café in the old Kirkcudbright railway station. The owner, Nick, is passionate about his new 'baby' and committed to providing us with delicious, locally-sourced (genuinely) food in an original, quirky interior, made and served by delightful staff. Impressed

User

A great place for a quiet drink of quality coffee, served with food made from locally sourced ingredients. Nick's attention to detail is clear, and the wood fittings by Ian Cameron-Smith are fantastic and wood block prints by Claire Cameron-Smith just as enjoyable! Greta service, good value, and somewhere to chill at the start and end of a working day as the cafe opens 7.30am to 7.30pm six days a week.
