Fantastic food, steak cooked EXACTLY how I asked. Fine wine list too. Cosy and intimate.

My wife and I came here for our first night on our honeymoon. We both appreciate a good steak so thought we would try somewhere that's more upmarket then the norm. We had 6 oysters to start followed by rib eye steaks on the bone plus all the usual trimmings for main. Easily the best steak we've ever had. They have a wine list of the best wines to accompany each type of steak. I don't usually buy into that kind of stuff when it comes to wine but it honestly made the meal. 3 courses for two plus a beer each and a bottle of wine cost us around £160 which is a lot more then we would normally spend on a meal out but for the special occasion and quality of food, I would say it was completely worth it and would 100% go again next time we visit Edinburgh. The decor of the restaurant is new, up market and quirky although the only negative we found was, It was quite dark on our table when it came to reading the menus but that didn't take away from the fact we loved it! *****

Table of 11 on a Sunday evening. Service was prompt and staff friendly and knowledgeable. Great ambience and lighting bought about by the decor. It would be a great place for a romantic meal! Steak was of the highest quality as you would expect when paying the higher price.

Had a few great meals over the last few years but the standard has dropped significantly and we were disappointed. 3 of our 6 steaks were supposed to be medium but were very well done and the sides were nothing to speak of. Nice ambience but not worth the high prices anymore.

We had a later booking but even though there were pretty much no floor staff to be seen after serving the meal. Meal averaged 40 pounds a head with no wine. Not justified.

The best halal steak I've had EVER! ! ! ! ! Need 24hr notice for halal but it's worth it. Couldn't fault a single thing. Staff where aware of our halal option an only offered what we could eat. The ambience is perfect for a romantic evening. Take a bow steak of Edinburgh, bloody excellent.

Great steaks and delicious sides. A good atmosphere and very attentive waitress and Maître d'. An Informal restaurant for casual dining.

It was a very good steak.
A bit pricey but very good.

Fantastic food. Strongly recommend the early evening menu if you can get it, excellent value for money. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
