Steinhart Distillery gets 5 Starts on Melba's Toast & Roast Reviews

Thomas Steinhart is the most charismatic and genuine and friendly distillery master I have ever met. We ended up spending nearly 2 hours here just sharing stories and jokes. I think that's the best part about any business... is that the owners don't make it seem like a business but rather a friendly setting where everyone is at home having a drink with some friends.

Thomas was not only great at conversation but he took the time to show us his stills and you can feel and easily tell that this man has a passion for his profession. Actually, he used to be an engineer and decided to pursue distilling just like his father and his father's father.

We ended up ordering 6 bottles of the most delicious and aromatic vodka's and gin from him. However it won't be the last time we give Steinart Distillery a call. Even though I live in Alberta his family like demeanour and high quality liquors will bring as back for many years to come.

PLUS! He's uber professional and shipped our order very fast! I mean FAST!!!

WINNER of the 2016 RBC Emerging Business Award.

A 400 year old family tradition that began on his family farm in rural Germany is alive and well in Agrsaig. Thomas Steinhart is inspired by the natural environment here in Nova Scotia to craft authentic spirits batch-by-batch at his distillery. The company prides itself on the process and creating international award winning maple vodka, habanero vodka, and gin from locally sourced ingredients without the addition of chemicals, artificial flavours or sugars.

Thomas and his staff are enthusiastic to share a sample, tour you around the incredible facility or have you as their guest at one of the chalets for a few days and learn the art of distilling hands on.

The rum is a must try!

User

The maple vodka - wow!! I've never tasted vodka like it. And the gin, the beautiful blueberry gin, classic gin, rhubarb gin. The list goes on. This is an amazing place, with helpful and friendly staff giving tours and a fantastic view to boot. Did I mention the beer??? Go now, you will not be disappointed

User

The Jager Schnitzel was excellent! So nice to have a totally different type of food in the area.

User

Picked up a bottle of the Rhubarb Gin. Wow is all I can say!! Amazing product!

My husband and I have been experimenting with different local distilleries and wineries and we came across Steinhart at the Wolfville Farmers Market. To say I am simply impressed is an understatement. I tried the maple and cranberry vodka and my husband tried the habanero vodka and they were delicious! The maple was just like drinking maple syrup, it was smooth, and had an almost creamy sensation. I ended up bringing some of this home! It went great on the rocks and also in my morning coffee. The cranberry was juicy, slightly tart and very refreshing. The habanero vodka was very complex. It started with a smooth delivery of flavor. You could taste the pepper and feel the heat from the habanero and the burn was not long lasting. It was an absolutely delightful experience. Thank you for bringing this amazing talent to Nova Scotia!!!

Met Steinhardt of Antigonish this weekend at the Lunenburg Food and Craft Festival.. Wow...Maple Vodka! Exceptional taste! Of course, I brought some home!

User

Maple Vodka, oh my goodness. Purchased at the Halifax Airport, what a find! Served it over ice and it is delectable. Taste of maple but is not sweet, a gorgeous slide over the palette.

User

Just discovered this gem from back home at Sobeys Liquor in Edmonton! Trying the Gin tonight! Think I will have to run back for some vodka!

User

I was introduced to Steinhart Distillery by the Owners/Operators of Dream Catchers Main Street Pub. I had the chance to visit the place and to understand its operation. Of course, the best was the tasting part. Now, all we need is that the NL Liquor Commission gets onboard and brings these wonderful products in the province.

User

I tasted all these vodkas and settled on strawberry...flights are fussy on how many bottles of booze you fly home with- which frankly is quite rude.

The strawberry is delicious on ice and tastes like juice....but it isn't, that is important to remember if you have anything you need to accomplish the next day.

I am headed back east this summer by car and I guarantee my vehicle will weigh much more coming back...Steinhart, I'm coming for you! :)

User

I haven't been to the location yet but discovered their gin last week while I was down home. I'm now sitting in BC savoring a drink from the bottle I brought home. I have to figure out how to get it out here!! I can't wait until I return home....the first drink of gin/tonic that didn't leave me with a headache!!!! Thank you!!!!

User

I bought the "sampler" bottles at the Farmer's Market. My daughter thought the Gin was the best she's had. I had the Organic and Haberno Vodka. Both very tasty. I will be buying bigger bottles next tome!!

User

Had a personalized tour yesterday and a wonderful tasting. It is definitely worth the drive, and you can pick up some Knoydart Cheese on the way!

User

Great visit yesterday to Steinhart's.... the schnitzel on a bun was fantastic along with the Rhubarb Gin cocktails....

User
