A sunday morning oddity, this is one of the five remaining etched glass windows to the rear of Old Viewforth, it depicts a first holding a rose, the symbol of international socialism (thanks to Neil Bennie for pointing it out). It looks Edwardian to me but can't find out why it's there...any thoughts?

A lovely day yesterday in the King's Park, ahead of a new path upgrade we dug some test-pits around the Park Loch, no sign of the dam structure (one of the oldest in Stirling), the 19th century racetrack is built on top of it and doubled its size, but we did find some stratified deposits in the loch itself and a dump of WW1 strap buckles and fish knife! Some of the soldiers who were stationed in Stirling during WW1 fought at Gallipoli! The picture is of stratified deposits in the loch...fingers crossed we can get these dated! thanks to everyone who helped!
Is anyone interested in helping me explore the Royal fish pond next week Wednesday 24th October....for more details please email me cookm@stirling.gov.uk
