Stirling Folk Club

Local lad Marcus Basi is playing in Stirling Town Centre this Saturday.

We had another well attended session night last week. A couple of new faces, David and Peter, giving us some of their tunes....Some of our players on the night.

Tomorrow sees the clubs first gig of this year. The Duncan McCrone Band are our guest artist for the evening. Lots of good music and songs from well known regulars at Stirling. Come along for a good night.

Monday night saw the first session this year. A really good night,and a warm welcome to Ailsa,braving the cold night to contribute to the evening. Rabbie was well represented ,other song writers were allowed,and enjoyed ,even by Nkosi...Next week is another session night. Come along, meet some friends for a song or two.

Well, Tomorrow night sees the start of the year for Stirling Folk Club. Starts off with a session night.Normal start time of 8pm and a costly sum of £2 to get in. Don't just think about going, Get yourselves along for a singalong.

An update on Charlie Methven who died last week. His funeral will be held at Stirling Crematorium ,on Friday 7th February, at 1300hrs for anybody wishing to pay their respects.

Really sad to say that Charlie Methven has passed away.Charlie formally ran Stirling Folk Club with his wife Isobel. He had still been a regular at the club up until the end of the year, giving us his best at the monthly session nights. He will be sorely missed. No details as yet of funeral arrangements.😥

Already a week into the New Year, first Stirling Folk Club night will be here before you know it. Monday 27th January is a session. Just after Rabbie's birthday!. Maybe we can have a few of his tunes! Still the same price of £2 to enjoy yourselves in grand company.

Last night at Stirling Folk Club, the second last gig of the year,We warmly welcomed, The Quiggs, .....pity about the heating! Great night with great songs, a few jokes, and some great singing. BIG thank you to Harry and Mandy, Trysten Folk, for stepping in at the eleventh hour as the floor spot..
