User

Thanks Phil, it was a pleasure having you and your sister to stay!

User

Wowser! What a place, from the moment you arrive till the moment you leave it is just pure blissful relaxation, the setting is stunning with beautiful grounds and a Japanese water garden, which you are welcome to wander round at your leisure, the inside is spectacular, we were there as day guests and the value was amazing, we had a water massage and facial with leg/foot massage, 3 course lunch ( which was amazing ) followed by coffee in the drawing room and full use of all the spa facilities from 9am-5pm all for £109, the staff were so helpful and pleasant, sitting in the outside hot tubs over looking the gardens is just wow! The swimming pool over looks the beautiful gardens where little rabbits are running around, there is a mixed steam room, sauna and hydro pool and a woman’s only steam room, sauna, crystal room, tropical

Showers etc, fresh fluffy towels aplenty and fresh drinking water chillers all over, the whole experience was nothing short of amazing, we have visited many spas over the past 10 years but nothing as wonderful as here! We will definetly

Return, and next time we will stay over night, we truly didn’t want to

Leave, if I could give it 6 stars I would.

User

Went to the spa yesterday for the morning chill-out session on my way back home to Switzerland. The place is gorgeous, the three-course lunch matched it, the staff are very attentive and friendly and the little touches throughout make the experience even better. Highly recommended.

Special thanks to Theresa for the complimentary ice-cream ;-)!

User

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit here with my daughter. It is a lovely relaxing place to visit. Lots of super pampering treatments on offer and facilities to use. Enjoyed a cocktail in the new lounge, it wasn’t there last year when we visited. We had a very comfortable bedroom with all that you would want in it. The selection of food on the menus was superb and very tasty. This was our 4th visit and we’ll be back - for 2 nights next time, I hope.

User

Stayed here for 2 nights last week. It was lovely. The room was perfect and the service was excellent. The spa was just brilliant. The cocktail bar is ace with a view over the pool. Will definitely be back great place to chill.

User

My wife and I had a one night stay on the 19th in the Castle Lodge. Room was very clean and comfortable with excellent facilities.

Dinner, breakfast and lunch included. All meals were first class, especially the venison, and service was second to none. We used the pool and the other facilities in comfort, no overcrowding. Reception staff at check-in and checkout were friendly and professional. Would thoroughly recommend a visit. We will certainly be returning.

User

My first stay at Stobo and can only say it was one of the best spa hotels ever. Spa facilities were amazing and a joy to use.... rooms and food were a definite 5 stars.

and to add to all this, the setting of the castle and it's garden grounds, with its secret Japanese garden only added to the ambiance of the stay...Would highly recommend for anyone looking to go.

User

Massive thank you for having me and my daughter tiegan last night. We have done evening escapes but this was our 1st stay. Can't fault a thing. I was worried about the food and were both a bit fussy about shouldn't off bothered. Kitchen very accommodating. I've came home exhausted from the spa, swimming and all the food. Cycled to Japanese gardens last nite and my daughter really enjoyed the tennis. All staff were brilliant and helpful. We will be back. Hopefully sooner rather than later x

User

Love love love Stobo I’ve been several times now and it just keeps getting better. There’s always something new each time I come back and the cocktail bar is beautiful. Great staff, amazing food, beautiful scenery and best of all a fabulous Spa .

User

Just...wow! Already saving to come back, this time for 2 nights! We stayed in the Cashmere suite which is out of this world. The staff and service was second to none and organised breakfast on our terrace, which was just fab as the sun was shining. Book the mud room!

User

Just returned from my first visit and I can honestly say this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff were all so friendly from the moment we arrived, explained everything really well and nothing was too much and they all seemed happy and good humoured, made you feel relaxed from the start. I was a bit worried about timings of treatments and getting the best out of the spa but the early dinner allowed us for more fun after and they even allowed us in the cocktail bar in our robes for a nightcap. The staff in the cocktail bar were also really friendly and I now have a new favourite cocktail. I had Neom happiness treatment with Gemma and facial with Christine and were both excellent. The weather was also great so we even managed a walk around the grounds and Japanese water garden. We will definitely be back. Thanks very much, you made me feel amazing! Lesleyanne

User

Just home from a fantastic 2 night pure spa break at Stobo Castle for my sister's 40th birthday. Feeling completely pampered and relaxed. Stunning views, attentive staff and lovely food. The spa facilities could not be faulted and especially loved our time in the outdoor hot tub whilst the snow was falling. The ladies washroom was an experience in itself and as for the cocktail bar........I could go on, and on............

User

I slept like a baby and woke-up with skin as soft as one too. Thanks so much for yesterday's evening of swimming, sauna-ing, steamrooming and lazy gazing out at the rabbits on the lawn. The best £39 investment I've made in long time. See you soon again hopefully.

User

I have been going to Stobo now for many years and have never been disappointed and this weekend was no exception staff as always coutous and welcoming. We treated our niece asa treat for her birthday and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Did think she would be offered a complimentary drink though as we brought a cake. I was also a tiny bit disappointed with our Irish coffee cream on top disentergrated so did not enjoy that. All in all still a brilliant weekend and already making plans for our next visit.

User

Had a fabulous 2days at stobo castle with Denise Cowan my sister..stayed in castle house..just behind the castle..room was fabulous ..staff were fantastic ..very pleasant and helpful..dinner and breakfast was very tasty ..pool ..sauna..steam rooms were brilliant..had cocktails..in the cocktail lounge to finish to night..all in all had a fab stay..we will definitely be back..

User

Annual event for myself and a friend. Classic room ‘Templar’ was lovely. Beautiful view. Food choices better this time. Addition of the cocktail bar is a nice touch. Treatments were superb, especially the aromatherapy massage. Disappointed that the Drawing Room is now a dining room. That’s not an improvement, a view shared by all 8 diners at our table so maybe worth a rethink. But still very good value and a superbly relaxing visit.

User

A warm welcome, a lovely spacious room and a great lunch at the cafe. All our meals included in our overnight stay were delicious. The staff are excellent and can't do enough to help. The spa staff did wonders for me helping me to feel relaxed and rejuvenated all in one go. Can't wait to do it all again. P.s thanks for the complementary car wash - an unexpected pamper for my car.

User

I have given 4 stars for the simple reason that the food wasn’t quite 5 star. I understand it comes as a package with room, dinner and breakfast, lunch on day of departure. There really was very limited choice with all dishes having the same veg which happened to be broccoli and turnip, the only two veg my husband hates. We asked the waitress to change and the kitchen happily made some carrots and peas for him, which were lovely but by then the rest of his meal was finished. Anyone with a fussy palate would have a problem I think. Bit confusing at breakfast as it wasn’t clear if you had to do your own toast or the staff were doing it.... resulted in our poached eggs going cold while I made the toast!

Also we found the spa/ swimming pool a bit of a mystery. Where to put our towels, gowns and slippers??? Finally just hung them on hook outside the sauna but eventually a bed came free so we left them there. We could see other people equally confused as to what to do with their things while they had a swim.

We had a lovely walk down to the gardens which are gorgeous and the waterfall is quite spectacular. A few benches on the way there would have been nice, to just sit, rest and take in the beautiful countryside.

On the plus side the staff were very warm and welcoming and the room in the castle was very comfortable and in keeping with the style/ age of the building. The ladies restroom on the ground floor has to be seen to be believed it is stunning.

User

Enjoyed our stay at Stobo again facilities were great, food was good and the staff were professional but friendly . Enjoyed a walk to the Japanese water garden , only small glitch was our room was very hot in the main building and no air con , much quieter midweek than weekends and we preferred this.

User

My husband and I went for the lazy afternoon yesterday. The staff were all great and the facilities were all good and not too busy. My husband had a sports massage that he said was excellent (so much so that he took the guys card and will try and get into his Edinburgh surgery).

The thing that let the afternoon down for both of us was the afternoon tea element... the serving staff were lovely and friendly but we found the portions to be really small. 6 sandwich fingers between 2 amounts to about half a sandwich each - there was 1 of each finger so you have to choose who gets the egg, who gets the cheese and pickle etc... you also get one fruit and one plain scone between 2 so again, you have to choose who is the lucky one who gets the fruit scone. Same for the sweets - there were double of some, but not all.

I've enjoyed lots of afternoon teas but unfortunately the Stobo Castle one is the worst I've had. The spa itself was really lovely it's just a shame that the afternoon tea let the afternoon down.

User

Enjoyed our stay at Stobo again facilities were great, food was good and the staff were professional but friendly . Enjoyed a walk to the Japanese water garden , only small glitch was our room was very hot in the main building and no air con , much quieter midweek than weekends and we preferred this.
