Stonehaven Folk Festival

Welcome to the home page of the Stonehaven Folk Festival, the No. 1 Folk Festival for the North-East of Scotland.

Established in 1989 and held on the second weekend in July. In – 2012 the festival was nominated as “Best Event” at the MG Alba Scots Trad Awards. Unfortunately we didn'’t win but the nomination was a great endorsement to what we have been doing to develop the festival over the years.

2018 will be our 30th Festival and we are hoping to make it just a little bit better than last year.
We will also have a full programme of Workshops and Sessions and we can confirm that the Steenhive Big Sing will take place again. Plus all your favourites such as the Plainstones, Cowie Fringe, Aqua Ceilidh, World Paper’n’Comb Championships, Tradition Bearers Concert and Chorus Cup.
