Stornoway Free Church Of Scotland - Continuing

Stornoway Free Church of Scotland (Continuing) is reformed, Presbyterian and adheres to the Westminster Confession of Faith.

The congregation of Stornoway Free Church of Scotland (continuing) meets every Sabbath at 11am & 6. 30pm at our building on Sandwick Road, which is just outside Stornoway.

We have a prayer meeting and Bible study on Thursdays at 7. 30pm and a prayer meeting on Saturdays at 7. 30pm, both held in our Sandwick Church. We also have a prayer meeting and Bible study on Tuesdays at 7. 30pm held in the Bragar Meeting House on the Westside of Lewis

The body of the congregation is made up of Christians and non-Christians alike who meet for worship from many areas throughout the Isle of Lewis.

The worship consists of Psalm singing, prayer, a reading from the Word of God and a sermon based on a portion of Scripture.

The denomination is reformed, Presbyterian and Calvinist and the desire and hope of the congregation is that many will be brought to a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that all are born sinners, that there is none righteous, and that it is a matter of urgency for all to accept Jesus Christ as Saviour to the saving of their eternal souls.

Our current minister Graeme Craig was born in Paisley, Scotland, in 1964, and was educated at Dundee University and the Free Church of Scotland College. He was ordained and inducted to Ardnamurchan Free Church in October 1989, where he ministered for eight years to the congregations of the Ardnamurchan peninsula. In Sept 1997 became Minster at Lochalsh & Genshiel, later on also taking on responsibility for Genelg & Arnisdale. In April 2009 he took up his present sphere of labour in Stornoway. He is married to Roberta, who comes from Rathfriland, Co. Down, Northern Ireland, and they have eight children.
