Stow Brae Kirk Description

1738 - Laigh Kirk (Paisley Burgh Church) begins on New Street, Paisley.
1781 - West Relief Church begins at Castlehead Main Road and Paisley Middle Church opens.
1820 - Laigh Kirk moves to George Street.
1834 - Laigh Kirk plants the South Church on Neilston Road.
1843 - South Church secedes during the Disruption - congregation continue to worship at Neilston Road site until:
1850 - New building completed for South Free Church on Causeyside Street.
1900 - Union of the United Presbyterian and Free churches creates the Canal Street UF (United Free) Church.
1929 - Act of Union between the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church creates the congregations of St Georges Low (formerly Laigh Kirk), Cananl Street (formerly Canal Street UF) and St Andrews (Formerly the Free South Church).
1975 - Canal Street Church unites with Paisley Middle Church and becomes known as Castlehead Church.
1985 - Union between St George's Low and St Andrews at the Causeyside Street premises as Laigh Kirk.
2011 - Castlehead and Laigh Kirk unite at the Causeyside Street premises to form Stow Brae Kirk.
