Gryffe Badminton Club will be on tonight 8pm - 10pm

Wednesday night saw the 2nd & 3rd teams on their travels with the 1st & 4th playing in Houston. Home advantage worked for the 1st team with a very comfortable 5-0 (18-2) win over Newlands 2nds with James coming back from 2 down to ensure full points. A totally different story for the 4th team who fielded a team with an average age of 57 and people say squash is a young mans sport !. The youngster of the team Bryan had a comfortable 3 nil victory whilst everyone else decided to make the matches 5 setters. Unfortunately the only winner was the old man of the team, Alan so the team, despite winning more games 12-11 lost the match 14-12 as Whitecraigs took the 3 bonus points.
Mixed fortunes for the away teams also as the 2nds lost 4-1 (5-17) at SSRC with the 3rd team winning 3-2 (16-7) after the short trip to David Lloyd.

What’s happening on the tennis side this weekend.....
On Saturday morning at 10.45 to 12.30 it’s mini Matchplay, for all red and orange ball players, £5 or £2.50 for an hour 🎾
... Junior Pizza Social, for all green and yellow ball players up to the age of 14. 1.30pm to 4.30pm😊 The format will be slightly different as week forecast is not looking too good. So plan is a team competition, playing mini red doubles indoors for the 1st two hours, along with some fun yellow ball team games, then for the last hour play table-tennis, get the pizzas 🍕 in and watch the rugby.

On Sunday morning into early afternoon it’s Strathgryffe‘s TS300 event, which will run from 10am to about 2pm. 6 of our own male tennis members are competing in this singles competition with the winner qualifying for the TS500 event, should be a good standard, worth coming down to watch and support the players.
Finally it‘s the Junior Teen Social on Sunday night. This is for players aged 14 to 18.It Starts at 6.30pm for food (a takeaway of your choice), then the tennis is at 7pm to 9pm indoors. Cost for food and tennis is £8, but if coming for tennis only it’s £4.

With tots, mini and junior camps, there is something for children age between 3 and 15. As well as tennis, there is the opportunity for the mini and junior players to take part in multi sports with plenty of competitions and prizes thrown in!
