Stronachlachar Lodge Description
This superb six bedroom lodge rests on the banks of Loch Katrine in the heart of Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Boasting superb loch views, the property is situated on the pier of Stronachlachar, from where the Sir Walter Scott Steamship departs on daily trips around the loch. There is also a cafe located on the pier which serves excellent food and drink (licensed) and rents out boats for fishing.
Stronachlachar Lodge is well equipped and decorated to a high standard. Traditional features like the real log fires in the snug room, living room and kitchen /diner have all been restored and are complemented by modern conveniences. The lodge has 4 double bedrooms and 2 twin bedrooms which can accommodate up to 12 plus baby. The lodge has it's own private grounds and has been equipped with picnic benches and a further sitting area with benches looking up the loch which is perfect for just sitting back and relaxing. The lodge can be rented for short breaks outwith the peak holiday periods.
The area is a popular destination with walkers and cyclists, with permit fishing available for anglers. The nearby village of Aberfoyle offers a wide selection of pubs, restaurants and shops, with many golf courses available throughout the region. Loch Lomond is easily accessible by car, offering loch side cruises, a spa hotel, championship golf courses, an aquarium and selection of water sports. The lodge benefits from discounted weekly family membership of the local Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel’s swimming pool and gym (10 minutes away by car), plus 10% off spa treatments and food. Shop and pub 10 miles.
The cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling are all accessible by car.

We had a fantastic stay in this beautiful house! The location was magical and the rooms were fantastic! Loving the big kitchen and wood burning stoves. Great trip xx
This place is fantastic for a large group of friends or family to get away from it all. Spent new year with family there were 16 of us and had the best time. Rooms were perfect, spotless clean, kitchen facilities were great for cooking for large group. Some scenic Local walks, very tranquil chilled time had by all. Defiantly going back some time in the future!
Stayed at the lodge for 3 nights with 10 family members to celebrate my mums 60th birthday and daughters 16th we all had a fantastic time. The lodge is absolutely gorgeous exceptionally high spec finish. The children loved the games room, everything we could possibly need was catered for.The one and only negative point was the hot water was on a timer system and with 10 people it was a race to have a shower. The surrounding area and scenery was stunning, the cafe at the end of the pier served lovely food and delicious homemade cakes. We are planning to return with friends as soon as possible.
Spent 2 great nights at the lodge. Lovely decor and everything you need for a weekend away! Scenery is beautiful! Will definitely return

Spent last week at this fabulous house, there were 10 of us from 2 years to 70, beautiful location even in the rain nothing better than being in great company and log fires. So much space and very well presented really hope get the chance to visit again thank you
Most beautiful place I have ever been!! Just come back yesterday and was absolutely gutted to wake up this morning to city life!! There were 11 of us ranging from 1-60, fantastic location for all ages! Be sure to take lots of pictures as it's almost to much to take in when you are in front of it. Also if you are going when it's warm, take midge repellent!! Thank you so much for letting us borrow your wonderful house!! Couldn't recommend more!!
Just returned from a week at this fabulous place with the family! The lodge is absolutely brilliant and decorated and furnished to a very high standard! Ate at the pier cafe at the bottom of the garden and the food and views were superb!! Would highly recommend to groups for a get together:)
I am just home after staying for three nights to celebrate my mum's 70th birthday. There were 9 adults, 4 children and 2 dogs. The house is huge and can easily cope with a large number of guests. It also stayed lovely and warm due to the wood burning stoves in the kitchen and living room. The views are stunning no matter what time of day or what the weather was like. What an amazing house for friends and family to gather in. We would all go back in a flash!
