Formed in 1927 by women trade unionists. The Women's Committee continues to promote issues that are important to working women and their families today.

Stuc Women'S Committee Description

The STUC Women's Committee is made up of Women trade union activists from across Scotland. We are elected each year at our conference and base our annual workplace on the debates that tale place. Our workplace is based on the following priorities that Scottish Women have set for us and include the following:

• Tackling the gender pay gap and ending low pay
• Increasing women’s membership in trade unions and our participation in public and political life at all levels
• Older women in the workplace
• Domestic violence and abuse
• Mental health
• Campaigning against TTIP and the TU Bill
• A women’s right to choose
• An international focus to our work with the committee
