About Studio Spring

Laura Spring was established in 2011 and cites the British preoccupation with the weather as motivation behind her exciting hand printed luggage line. With a keen interest in how pattern relates to it's function, this collection was designed with the intention that you can select your suitcase, tote bag or rucksack based on the weather at your planned destination or somewhere you dream of travelling to. It was first devised during the summer of 2011 when Laura was awarded the Scottish Craft Residency at Cove Park. Since then Laura has exhibited in London as part of Charlotte Abraham's "Spotted" showcase and Pulse Launchpad. Most recently she was invited to exhibit her work at The Lighthouse in Glasgow where she developed a new body of site-specific work and prints inspired by the early meteorological kites of the late 1800s. Laura is currently one of ten scottish based textile companies to be selected as part of a new business incubator support program called Fashion Foundry. This program is being facilitated by The Cultural Enterprise Office, Wasps, Scottish Enterprise and Creative Scotland.
