Sue Ryder Seafield, Edinburgh Description
Sue Ryder never sought publicity or personal recognition for her work, but always stressed that the Forgotten Allies stories should be told.
Sue Ryder was far from happy at falling victim to the BBC's 'This is Your Life' programme in 1956, but the more her story was told, the deeper the affection grew for her and her work with refugees in Europe. She drew upon her unfaltering religious faith to buoy her when things became impossible. To understand her strength of will and passion that inspired her into her fate - becoming one of the greatest and iconic women of the 20th century - come with us to explore a little of her early background. Sue Ryder has left a lasting legacy of care and dedication to this day.
