Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th August
This weekend we are at Montrose Basin, the basin offers a fantastic place to try out stand up paddle boarding. Not only is it sheltered with calm waters but it holds a range of wild life and interesting history.
We also have a climbing competition (worth£160) that the winner will be announced tomorrow, the competition is for Sunday Morning, check out our post (it’s about 3 down from the top).

All under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Pre booking is essential for all activities. To make a booking drop us amessage and we will get you booked in.

Would highly recommend, paddle boarding is such a lovely way to see our beautiful country and Jim was a very knowledgeable and patient instructor. My husband and I absolutely loved our midday session at the basin, so much so that we are already looking to purchase our own SUP. Look forward to rejoining Jim on another excursion when we return to my wonderful hometown of Montrose later this year.

Well what can I say! What a brilliant time we had on our first ever session today. It was such a great experience and Jim was a fantastic instructor. Will 100% be doing this again. Thanks Jim for a fab time and for making it such a laugh too. If you’ve done paddle boarding before you’ll know what fun it is and if you haven’t, well you should!!

We had a great afternoon out at Catterline and it was amazing seeing the Dolphins swim so close. James was a great instructor and his banter was on top form will definitely go again.

Tried this for the first time this afternoon at Catterline bay with my son Sam. Amazing experience didn't manage to get standing on my board but hopefully next time as will definitely be back for more. Great instructor and great laugh along with learning plenty about what's in the water beneath you and around.

Tried the paddle boarding experience on Montrose Basin for the first time on Wednesday night and absolutely loved it. Never been before and I was a little dubious, however Jim made it a really fun enjoyable experience that I’m looking forward to doing again!

Really enjoyed tonights session at Catterline Bay. James is a great instructor with loads of information about the sea and the local area. If anyone is thinking of trying it, its easy to get the hang of and loads of fun. Will be booking another session soon.

My son (11) and I had our 1st time paddle boarding this morning. Great instruction and equipment, with some super sights of Caterline. Bit of a breeze which made it more challenging �. I managed to fall in quite a few times, but the little man managed to keep his hair dry through the whole session!!!

Really enjoyed it and expect to book another session to give it another shot. Great fun and good challenge.

My sister and I booked on Saturday to go paddle boarding and what a great time we all had , can't wait to book on again! Friendly laid back instructor. It was a bit windy so we didn't venture out the bay but we didn't care, had fun learning what to do and we all managed to stand up by the end of the session. Will definitely book in again. Highly recommend giving it a go, I'm not that confident in the sea and I managed fine. Thanks guys!!

My husband and son had an absolutely fantastic time on the water, even tho they ended up mostly under the water �Highly recommend this event for all ages.

Just had my first Paddle Board experience at Montrose basin. Great experience. 2 adults and 1 teenager in our group. Patient, entertaining teacher. We took to it like ducks to water...... will definitely try it again. Loved the stories along the way. Paddling back into bay gave us a little wind to paddle against. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Perfect weather too. Would recommend to anyone.

Just back from a 2 hour paddle boarding session in Caterline. What a great night. Had to battle my phobia of jellyfish. Jim, the instructor, was a great guy with loads of patience for newbies! Already planning on when we can get out again! Thanks!

If you’re nervous don’t be! Just do it! Jim is an awesome instructor, that quickly puts you at ease, very professional, patient & informative, he will have you standing up on the board in no time! Once you try it you’ll be hooked! Looking forward to my next SUP session already Highly recommend!

I absolutely hate the sea but managed to pluck up the courage to get out and just do it and I’m so glad I did as it was an amazing experience! Even the seals came to join us it was just ace! James is a great instructor not only does he teach you how to do stand up paddle he also tells you things about the sea and the wildlife. If any one is considering doing this I would highly recommend it! Thanks again James �

Had the most amazing afternoon paddle boarding around Catterline! I had no idea this fun sport was so close to home and we could experience our beautiful coastline from such a wonderful sport. Jim was an incredible instructor and I’d recommend anyone to give this a go - I’ll certainly be going back. We got up close to seals, puffins and cormorants to name a few. Hopefully dolphins next time ��

Had such a fab time getting a tour around the gorgeous Catterline bay as guided by Jim, not only did he show us the ropes with the paddle boards, but his knowledge and facts regarding the local wildlife and area was very interesting. Luckily enough on my trip we saw seals, jellyfish and dolphins! It was so good I’m already booked in for another session! See you then Jim �

Not only did I learn to paddleboard but held a jellyfish and ate seaweed straight out the sea!! Would highly recommend; I will definitely be back, maybe for the 4.00am sunrise session next time. Thanks So much �

Done Catterline Bay tonight and loved it. Me my other half who was a little wobbly � and 12 year old daughter really enjoyed the experience first timers and would highly recommend Jim he was patient and informative and always felt safe. He was knowledgeable about the area and would defo say just book it if it's something you think you would enjoy. Cheers for a great time and we will be back hopefully crack it next time. �
