I booked this place for my family and myself in the days leading up to my wedding and it was simply perfect. The location is secluded and private with superb views over the private loch(we even went in for a swim!) Would definitely stay again and totally recommend this. Romantic too if you're a couple

Brilliant, comfortable and relaxing.
Left on Sep 5, 2018 for a stay in Aug 2018... We returned a year on from our previous visit, with an extra (older) generation of the family and we all loved the place (again). The Bothy has everything you need to have a comfortable, relaxing break. From the excellent service prior to arrival, through the welcome, the fresh produce to help yourself to during the stay (the plums were delicious), to the upgraded hot tub, we can't recommend it highly enough. Even the family of swans that give the Bothy its name were on the Loch every day, giving us something to watch and enjoy, with the parents teaching their cygnets to fly. Thank you Diane and William. ... An amazing rural retreat in the vast grounds of a big Lake House with stunning views of the lake from each bedroom of the spacious bothy cottage! The pictures do not do it justice. It is the perfect getaway with the added bonus of a frivolous hot tub, a fire pit, a BBQ and ping pong table Outside. We would love to return soon. Peaceful, relaxing and beautiful setting

... Swan Bothy exceeded our expectations - it was comfortable and spacious and we all loved the peaceful relaxed atmosphere. Lots of personal touches which made us feel pampered and welcome. Hot tub was great - saw shooting stars on the clear nights which was an unexpected treat! Thank you so much for everything - the fresh eggs, honey and access to the veg garden were all very much appreciated.

Fabulous place to stay

Awe wee swan family

Wonderful! Stunning location and incredibly peaceful
Left on Aug 8, 2018 for a stay in Jul 2018 We had a wonderful few days at Swan Bothy with our two toddlers. We were attending a wedding nearby and it was the perfect location for some r & r and a base to explore the area (the setting is very special!). The bothy has all the gear if you are a family - high chairs, travel cots, stair gates etc. The weather was really kind to us and every evening we would sit out and watch th...e swans swim past on the loch. Coming from a bustling village within commuting distance of London - we loved the serenity and stillness. The owners were very responsive and super helpful with any queries we had. stayed for weekend. what a lovely homely relaxing place. beautiful surroundings. nice little touches like the rolos left on the pillows. definitely recommend it

Where to start!

From the long drive to the first view of the loch then the bothy itself. Just wow!



Absolutely amazing setting for a stress free long weekend. The bothy itself is very spacious and the welcome pack left for us from Diane and William was a lovely touch. There was a fire already set for us with fuel. There is a fire pit to toast the supplied marshmallows and a little wander through the trees to find the "trolls". The bedroom and en-suite are both comfortable and well lit. When you wake up and look out of the bedroom window onto the loch, and see the swans swim by or the chickens roaming around it takes away any stress. We were also lucky enough to see two deer.



After the long drive, a relaxing dip in the hot tub overlooking the loch was such a treat. The bothy is a great location to have an explore of Ayrshire. Although we didn't stray too far as there is plenty to keep you occupied if you so wish.



We don't want to give too much away because you really need to experience it for yourselves. Let's just say we cant recommend the Swan Bothy enough, we will definitely be back and we suggest you go and get booked up!

What an amazing secret hideaway, tranquil, peaceful & closeby to lots of lovely days out. Diane & William made us feel so welcome & provided lots of personal touches that were greatly appreciated. Visited with my husband & 3 children aged 7, 3 & 9 months. Everyone had a really fabulous time & we can't wait to return xx

We stayed in September for our honeymoon and it was the perfect choice. The cottage and hot tub are brilliant and in such a beautiful setting with lots of wildlife (not forgetting the hens, and dogs Jem and Mirren!). Huge thanks to Diane and William for making our stay so memorable. Already planning our return for next year!

We stayed at Swan Bothy over the Easter weekend and we had the most perfect time. The cottage was beautiful and the views were stunning. The hot tub topped it off perfectly. The cottage was spotlessly clean and it was so cosy with the log fire. The bottle of prosecco, fresh free range eggs and honey on arrival were also most welcomed after a long drive and were a lovely added touch. We will most definitely be staying here again when we next visit Ayr later in the year. Thank you again Diane and see you again soon x

This place is absolutely amazing! Hidden away with great views, so tranquil. Diane and William made us very welcome, lots of wee personal touches to make us feel at home. The cottage was spotless and the grounds it’s situated in were maintained to a high standard. Will be back soon for sure!

Swan Bothy is a wonderful, peaceful retreat, well appointed and cosy rooms, lots of lovely personal touches and a warm friendly welcome from Diane and William who take a genuine interest in your enjoyment of the property. My party of 4 could find no fault at all in the surroundings or the description given it exceeded our expectations and we loved it.

Our true home from home!

We have stayed at Swan Bothy for the last 10 years and have a fantastic holiday every time.

From the beautiful Martnaham Loch to the wonderful wildlife, there is no better place.

Diane and William are great hosts, together with the chickens and dogs you are always in good company.

We especially loved the Hot Tub. Running in for a hot shower afterwards and then relaxing infront of the log fire.......heaven

Loved this place great weekend away, very clean with beauitful views. If you want to treat your selfs get this place booked we will be back later on in the year.

Just returned from a fantastic 2 nights at the Swan Bothy, the cottage is beautiful as are the surroundings! We would highly recommend a stay here and we hope to be able to return.

Just back from this lovely 'bothy' where we had a fab weekend. Spacious comfortable cottage in stunning grounds with added bonus of having a fab & much used hot-tub. Fantastic base for days out to Ayr & surrounding areas. Thank-you Diane & William we hope to return again

Just back from fab anniversary weekend here. It's perfect and has the most fabulous hot tub with stunning views of the loch. Love it. Diane and William are great and go the extra mile with lots of thoughtful little touches. Can't wait to go back again

Just back from a lovely relaxing break at this beautiful cottage in a peaceful location overlooking the loch. With outdoor table tennis, hot tub and open fire in the living room The Swan Bothy really is the perfect place to switch off and relax.

Had the most amazing time at the swanbothy with my boyfriend. We thoroughly enjoyed the views, hot tub and lovely country walks. It was extremely peaceful and relaxing. The hot tub was amazing and the welcome basket was an amazing little touch. Staff were extremely friendly. Dogs and chickens were also lovely company. Highly recommend the hollybush inn for dinner. Definitely be back soon for another visit.

Fabulous stay from, 10 - 15/7/17, little bit of luxury and so appreciated all the added extras, cottage most comfortable, made to feel very welcome, really amazing place with lovely hosts, Diane & William, beautiful environment and views over loch were wonderful, inculding sights of wildlife, enjoyed all facilities: hot tub/fires - outdoor & indoor/summer house/walks, along with free roming chickens and 2 dogs on site also very lucky with brilliant weather, hoping to return again :)

An absolute hidden gem, this was a truly wonderful holiday! We were welcomed with an anniversary card and chilled bottle of prosecco! William and Diane are so friendly and welcoming with tips and recommendations for places to visit and eat and drink. Everything you could need is here from a hot tub to a fire pit to toast provided marshmallows!

The view of the loch 15 metres in front of the lodge as you open your curtains in the morning just sucks all stresses away, we have spent a week of relaxation combined with exploring the beautiful Ayrshire countryside. If you are reading this then just book! You wont regret it I promise.
